1969 Mercury Marquis Brougham sold to me by my grandfather for $1. 429 4 Barrel in it. Could watch the gas gauge move (hmmm not unlike my beloved F Type). Trunk was large enough to put three bodies in (as I'm sure the mob would agree) or about a dozen slightly inebriated college kids on a dare. It was a "boat" but had power everything and was actually cool to drive as a late teen.

Default 1965 Impala SS

This isn't my car but it is damn close. I had different Mags and it had air shocks in the back but otherwise this is identical, same color seats even. (Which I eventually painted black, blue interior just didn't grab me, but vinyl paint was another lesson I don't want to revisit).

In 1975, my first car was a 1962 Volkswagen Beetle. 1200cc's of power. Right-hand drive and passed from my Mom to myself. Looked just like this would look in a mirror.

65 Mustang inline 6, 3 speed. When you let the clutch out the whole car would shudder like a leaf in the wind it was so rusty. They didn't do so well in the salt. Memories for a lifetime.

The only difference - although it's so long ago I can't recall the interior color; its come to me: some sort of brown - is I had Crager wheels.

Another view...of my 1972 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350 (although this picture, and the one before, isn't of my car) which my dad purchased for me in 1974.

Default First and last.

My first and last cars, both British and both red. But, my are they different when I lift the bonnets, and when I step on the GO pedal. Both have nice exhaust notes. One I can service myself and have for 50 years this year. The last one, no way.

Technically not my first car, but it was my first vehicle for several years until I turned 16...

And, when my high school had Farmer's Day - I was the only one to arrive in style.

(Meanwhile, MJM, love your TR4!)
