Default Someone hit my car and took off.....

I was about to get onto the freeway on-ramp and some a-hole had to be speedracer and get through the on-ramp before me and hit my drivers side rear quarter panel. It caused me to spin, towards the left, knowing there is a 30 ft drop I turned the opposite way and went up onto the dirt shoulder.... in the process destroying the rear axle, wheels, etc....

Best part is, the guy took off!

There was a witness in another car that apparently saw it happen, but was unable to get the guys plates. Said it was someone in a white BMW with tinted windows.... go figure.... He gave me his number for witness stuff...

CHP showed up took a report, gave them the witness phone number... I really do wish I had that blackvue 2 cam system I ordered... I'm sure it'll arrive sometime next week....

I went ahead and made an illustration for my insurance company, so ill share it here, the silver lines represent my car the red are for the BMW......

Seems like you are ok and not hurt which is the only good part of this whole scene. So sorry about your car.

It does seem to me that when I am in my F type, there are some people that drive like idiots around me, likely some sort of jealous response .. possible this is what was going on.

Yes, merely a flesh wound for the car. Good thing it protected you and hopefully it'll be back on it's feet quickly.

I've had similar problems since I put my XKR on the road. Seems every small ***** ego must act like an idiot. Never had this problem in my blown mustang or other hot rods but a swoopy sexy coupe...

Car will mend but most thrilled to know you had knowledge of where you were, what to avoid and God gave you the skill to go the correct route. Dare say with a thirty foot drop we would have had one less post to ponder today! Let that idiot have today's race but you will win the series.

Thank God you are fine! What a pitty for the car. Dash Cams help.

In this case also the situation of that road played against. Poor infrastructure, no signals, dangerous.

Very sorry to read this, but glad that you are not injured - life can change in an instant. There is no surprise in the fact that it was a BMW driver who caused this potentially much more serious accident; the only surprise is that the BMW was not silver in colour. I say this as one who has suffered a hit-and-run by a (what is your best guess?) silver BMW, according to witnesses.

Yes this happened at around 8pm last night.

The witness said that it was a white BMW, I barely caught a glimpse of the car as I was spinning around he was driving past and with all the dust and everything else I really didn't see the car, unfortunately I ended up at a slant going uphill with the front bumper pointing to the entry of the on-ramp. So it would have been silver, but, the witness said it was white and he got a better look than I did.

Now just gotta wait and see if the insurance company will decide to repair or total. Funny thing is I've been driving for 18 years with NO accidents, and this year alone my previous sedan was totaled due to flooding caused by the heavy rainfall we had in February, and now this...

Damn...sorry for the car but glad you're okay. Any chance one of those homes have a security camera outside? Mine picks up passing cars so slight chance someone captured an image.

Very unlikely, but I'm going to check later when I have access to a car.

I was going to rag about a drive cam, but it looks like you were on top on that just a little too late.

Agree with everyone else about it being more important that you were not hurt.

$13,116.00 - sorry I always have to guess.
