Default Sos limited function (extended warranty?)

I'm curious to know if the sos limited function message is repaired under the (Extended) Warranty.. It periodically comes on and off (mostly when its wet and or cold). Or is it possible its due to the battery being 5 years old.. (No other signs of week battery).. Its become very consistent lately though and I'd like it not to flash up on the car when I trade her in before the warranty is up this spring. Im staying in Augusta currently and the closest jag dealership is in Columbia 90 minutes away. Worse than awful reviews for the establishment.
ps anyone know of the repair cost? Or if a dealership is gonna screw me charging me for things trying to figure out how to fix the fault. Jag has done that to me a few times..

Whether it's covered probably depends on whose extended warranty you have. If it's JLR, you should be covered.

Also, what year is your car? From your join date and 5+ year comment, I'm guessing your a MY14, but certainly MY17 or earlier. If so, I expect the SOS function will probably cease in 1Q when AT&T pulls the plug on 3G. The older communications modules don't work with LTE or 5G.

Its a 2016.. its a JLR CPO car. The extended warranty ends August 8th 2022.. A huge problem i have is i had the car looked at before over this but if the lamp isn't on, they say they can't fix it. It doesn't store it as a fault in its memory.. my jag dealership back in ny said they can't do anything.. this is a ****ed problem
And yeah I've been on a while. Had a couple of real special xkr's before the ftype

If you haven't already, put the car on a CTEK and let it fully charge - just in case it's a power issue (like the old battery).
