You'd need the raising and lowering mechanism, and possibly a recode to let the car know what it's now got. But if you got the fixed spoiler from the factory (like I did!) why would you want to go back to the ugly deployable one?
Ugly is relative - I don't love the way the car looks with the deployable spoiler up, but the fixed wing spoils the overall lines for me.
Personally, I think it would be cool to have a mix of the two: a relatively thin "lip" spoiler that is wider than the stock deployable spoiler that attaches to the stock one and raises/lowers with it. I don't know if that option exists, though.
I wish someone would make a deployable that looks EOM but when it deploys it "unfolds" on the sides to create a wider spoiler. Like the Panamera Turbo
being such a jag newbie I installed a fixed spoiler to the active thinking I could just unplug the motor. We all know what that does, tops your speed at 135. I found an emulator on eBay and installed it. Funniest thing though, while waiting for it to arrive, I drove with both. It deployed at 70mph, but the down force from both forces it closed and it never threw a code. I might have done damage to the internal motor gear, I don’t know. I drove for 2 weeks like that and never got a code. The system worked fine when used maint mode to install emulator.
As the originator of this post, I can use either back piece. As mentioned above the actuator to make it rise at 70 mph is a part of original piece. Putting the stationary spoiler on requires hooking up electrical connector in same place the motor to rise. Having both pieces I can switch out as needed or wanted. I have a kit car Lambo Countach so I'm a wing / spoiler nut and like the way it adds to the beautiful lines of the car. Even though the instructions say a software update is needed, that is not true.

We all have our own very subjective ideas of what looks best, and for me, with the F-Type, I feel that any wing detracts from the lines of the car. I'm considering disabling the OEM deploy-able unit, and it doesn't cost anything and is easily reversible. My only concern is whether any error messages are generated, and how to defeat them. I seem to recall another thread on here about how to disable the wing rising up... I'll search.
Yes I cant help myself, but I like a GT3 style wing. If I was to interfere with the booty on my car, I'd be putting the SVR style wing on it which I think has that redneck look I crave while not interfering with the shapeliness of the backside of the car. But alas if I did then I would probably hit the wing on the garage panel door opening the boot (which happened with the spoiler on the XKR and was more of a nuisance than you'd think), so it goes bare. But I can always satisfy that urge by putting a proper wing on the Mustang, and I think I will.
Hello guys,
here's my car. In my humble opinion, its the best looking spoiler on the market for our cars and that's why I got it. The spoiler design actually follows the lines and contour of the rear end of the car which makes this spoiler appear to be an OEM factory spoiler.

Zero problems at all with disabling the spoiler using the method I worked out a few years ago (around here somewhere but I'll let you look for it!) other than the error message you get when you hit 100 mph (160 km/h). That message is something like "spoiler inoperative" and you have to stop the car and turn the engine off to clear the message. However I vaguely recall something about a disabled spoiler invokes a speed limiter of something like 130 mph but I could be wrong about that, if it is true than a bit of searching should find it.
Regarding the SVR wing, that is what I asked for in the beginning. Problem is the SVR spoiler is only available if you buy the entire car. You cannot order parts from jaguar unless they were on your car originally and they do go by your VIN. I could not get the spoiler I bought until it was available as an accessory in their catalog.
Hi I bought the brackets that fit in to mount the spoiler in from underneath but it won’t sit down flush! Is the tray that sits in and fixes down with the ts27 bit different from the active spoiler compared to the fixed spoiler?? Thanks
where did you buy brackets from? Are they still available?
