Sport or Performance Seats?
Hello All,
I am looking at ordering my first F Type P450 Coupe, and I am unsure as to which seats to go for. I am either going to get the leather sport or the leather performance seats. Can current owners please share their thoughts on which could be best for me?
I am 5'10" / 250lbs and will unlikely be driving on track. However, I want the seats to be as comfortable as possible, as I will occasionally have my wife, who is shorter and much lighter than me in the passenger seat.
Also, if anyone owns an Eiger Grey F Type that could post pictures, that would be appreciated. I want to make sure it's the right colour for me.
Thank You

Just as a point of interest for others who land here, the 2016-2017 performance seats are the best F-Type seats, in my opinion. The reason is that they have adjustable side bolsters (in addition to adjustable lumbar support), an option not found in later seats. I have also read that the padding/foam was improved from 2014/2015 to 2016/2017, although I haven't tried both versions to form a preference.
For the OP, the opinions of others are not the most important thing when it comes to seats. Comfort is a very personal thing and depends in large part on individual body types, which can very widely. Go sit in both. Travel to do so if you need to. You are about to make a very large purchase and it should be one you really enjoy.

Can't do a real comp. but what I can tell you is the performance seats are extremely comfortable.
We recently did a 2.5K mile road trip. The seats were great.
I never get bum ache driving long distance. I am 185lb and 5'10"
Also, I am not sure but the perrformance seats may be the only option if you want heating/cooling.

Excellent advice, but be aware that sitting in the car in a showroom and sitting in it for several hours of driving are two different things. What seems like a favourite armchair in the showroom can feel very uncomfortable after an hour, while a seat that feels "firm" can be comfortable for many hours of driving. Firm, supportive seats beat luxury armchairs every time!

I'm about as tall as you but much lighter and can just say that the performance seats are super comfortable.
I've done road trips across Europe driving all day for several days in a row without the slightest discomfort. I've only heard people praise them for their comfort, can't remember ever reading/hearing anything negative about them and can't imagine how the lower spec seats could be more comfortable in any way.

I love the Sport seats in my 2017 S. Very comfortable for long drives, and plenty of support for spirited driving. It's hard to see how the Performance seats could be any more comfortable. I'm 6' 190 lbs. Plus mine have the 14 way power and memory.
The deeper bolsters on the performance seats will make them a bit harder to enter/exit. My wife would hate that. Plus I suspect they will feel tighter around the midriff due to the more pronounced bolster. I would definitely suggest sitting in a Performance seat before buying.

My '22 F-Type R was delivered with the "performance" seats and I honestly don't remember whether I had an option. They are both Heated and Cooled and have adjustable lumber, but do NOT have adjustable side bolsters. My XJL seats have ALL of those adjustments, with the addition of MASSAGE, and I LOVE those seats. While I wish the F-Type had the massage feature, I find these seats to be exceedingly comfortable as the static side bolsters "fit" just right for me (6'2"--195lbs). I have never driven more than 50 miles in one sitting though...the verdict is still out on whether this qualifies as a GT...
All that said...I find the performance seats to be very comfortable. Didn't want any confusion in my ramblings above.

I've got the performance seats in my P450 and I drove for nearly 9 hours, with just a half-hour break (to get the CT scan I'd travelled for) about 18 months ago, with 99% of that done with the car in Dynamic mode. When I got home I said to my father "you know, had it not been so late, I could have carried on past the house and driven another 3 or 4 hours". For me, I couldn't ask for a more comfortable seat for that amount of driving (and I couldn't really ask for anything more from the car either). Mine are the 6-way adjustable, no heating, no cooling performance seats.

It appears the main complaint about the Performance Seats (the seems) do not exist in the current models. The other original complaint of the Performance Seats was the firmness. At least just looking at the photos, the currents seats appear to mainly just differ in the shoulders. In short, you won't go wrong with either seat.
