spotify not loud enough

Hi, I have the incontrol meridian system (hard buttons on the side). Not bad sound, especially when cranked up a bit.
But when I play spotify, the volume is about half what it would be if it was USB or radio. It is only in this car that this happens, in the mustang it is fine and in my wife's jag (newer system) it is fine as well.
I tried changing the speed dependent volume, but that doesnt help even if I turn it off. I've also tried the phone settings, no help there.
Any ideas?
And yes, I know that I should just listen to the car, but I do get very obsessive about music, at the moment it is electro blues and electro swing, if you have doubts here you go https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0t...262e388ffd4a31

I noticed the same thing on my 2016. You're saying it happens when wired to the USB? I have only used Bluetooth. I checked my Spotify settings and there's a volume selector, mine was set to normal, there's a loud setting available, but the note states a loss of audio quality when loud is selected. My car is wrapped up or I would try it. I turned on the visual volume dial to remind myself where it is set. Switching to radio without turning it down first is a shocker for the wife. Keep us updated.

hahaha, yes I had it with bluetooth dropouts it would switch to USB and nearly burst my eardrums.
No I wasnt using wired, just wireless, but if I have it on USB or radio, it is plenty loud at about 30% but on spotify I could put it to 90%.
Yeah, already have it set to "loud".
Will let you know if I find a solution. One suggested rolling back the bluetooth version but I dont want to try yet as I had to update the car

I could be wrong but most of this type of problem is usually car based and not phone based. Have you tried playing other sources of music eg YouTube or Apple Music on your phone . I suspect these will also but quiet so should show that it isn’t Spotify specific and thus no need to to play with Spotify specific volumes.
The fact that when played through USB the volume is normal would support this.
Have you tried going into the system settings in the car and adjusting the Volume Presets. You can adjust the volumes for each individual inputs separately so just choose Bluetooth input and increase that one in particular.

hahahaha, yes the youtube clip was soft too, but when I cranked up the volume on the phone it went up! Thanks guys, gold star to BritCars
It makes such a huge difference, now at about a half volume it is plenty loud enough whereas before on full volume it was not loud enough. This stereo seems to have much better sound louder, rather than distorting, so it makes essentially annoying background noise become a fantastic experience. This was one of this morning's tracks, just right to get your heart going for the day

When I play Spotify from my phone over BT the phone always defaults to about 65% volume so I need to turn it up on my phone to get reasonable volume out of the system.
