After 2015, the F-Types had electric power assisted steering (EPAS). No hydraulic fluid.

I see, so if my steering wheel is stiff what do you think could be the reason?

what could be the reason that the steering wheel is stiff and hard to move around, any idea?

Is this an issue from day 1 or is this an issue that’s getting worse or suddenly went bad?

It was involved in a front accident, everything is replaced and works fine, the rack and pinion, had two cables splitter, they were fixed, that’s about it...

Is the steering just a bit stiff or does it feel the same as if the engine were turned off?

oh no, its drivable, but you know how you make a turn left or right and let the steering go and it goes back automatically to straight position, mine doesn’t but it works,

I suspect something was slightly bent (undetectable by eye) during the front end collision. Possibly the EPAS rack and pinion unit itself.

It’s an issue that should be covered by the collision insurance, so take it to your dealer or repair shop.

Were you able to get the alignment back into specification? If that’s out significantly, the steering won’t naturally come back to center.

Was the steering rack replaced? The one in the photo looks bent.

As Unhing suggests, you have quite a few bent items. Looks like a pretty good impact. I can quickly see that the front crossmember is bent and the right side is curled in. The right (passenger) rail is shredded at the end. I assume all of these were replaced/ repaired? With the aluminum in these cars, you have to be careful who repairs it. Wrong welding or heat will destroy the tensile strength in the chassis/unibody etc..

As suggested, you should check to see if it will align properly, and/or have a B/S put it back on an EZ-Liner/Puller and see if all of the reference points and geometry line up to factory specs.(Given the damage I see in your photo.

Good luck!

everything is fixed properly and everything fit perfect, I don’t know if it was aligned properly but I did took it to a tire shop and aligned to specs I hope, I do recall now, one of my lower ball joints wouldn’t attached to the knuckle, I beat the crap out it, I even drilled a whole through to attached it, so I was able to move it, temporary in my garage to work on it, I forgot to replace that, you guys think that is the reason??, I believe it is but would like to get other opinions..., thanks

Without doubt a contributing factor.

I’ll start by replacing the knuckle, since I can’t find any lower ball joint by itself, then I check it again, if that doesn’t fix it, I might just take to the shop to test the rack and pinion.
