Default As Stick Shifts Fade Into Obscurity, Collectors See Opportunity: Cars with manual tra

I did think the last 2015 8cyl RWD would always reign supreme as the collectible version of this car, but maybe my 2019 base manual is in the running! I'll never sell. =^D
I also wonder where my 2016 is, and if they fixed the engine and got it back out there.

Interesting article, and I know not many of you are on reddit, but a fun spirited thread:

July 2nd 2021 Jaguar just gave me a notification that they've released the press release for the 2016 manual transmission which is super bizarre

Maybe a bit of reminiscing from Jaguar about the manual? Now that it's gone..

Also, I saw your thread on reddit. Nice running into you.

I find it surprising that the new 400Z will initially only be offered with an MT. That will certainly cut down the magnitude of their target audience if only 18 percent of drivers out there know how to drive a stick.

In the UK if you pass your driving test in an AT you aren't licensed to drive an MT - you'd need to take another test.

I honestly think the F-Type manuals has the upper hand on all F-Type models except maybe the Project 7 and 2018-2020 SVRs. I estimate there were between 1500-2000 Rs allocated to the US for 2015 so plenty of them out there.
What was the VIN/Serial number of your 2016? I can check if I have any info on it.

Yeah but it should establish its credentials as a driver's car!

I poked around and obviously I'm not sophisticated enough to know where I would be looking for information. I'm interested in whether all this is just publicly accessible or you need a back-end system from a dealer or something. Cheers and thank you. If they did take back the car, fix it, and resell it, I'd be very interested.

If so, I'd be interested in what it took to get the issues resolved. It's not like your dealer didn't try. It sounds like they really put in some effort.
