Makeup remover... meaning removal from one's face, or do you mean fingernail remover (acetone)?

Yes I also tried Acetone with no luck. I agree it just sounds so crazy but I spent a lot of time on this because the sticky buttons were so annoying and at first the only solution was complete replacement! Jaguar did do this on several forum members cars but it was expensive and Jaguar was not consistent in their policy as some got the coverage and some did not. I was out of warranty so was on my own to fix it.

I did not discover the solution and was surprised to see how common this sticky button problem is across many very expensive cars.
Man the Ferrari guys just came unglued when this problem became apparent. Huge threads with screaming and yelling at Ferrari. So we are in good company at least!

What I understand is the coating was to give the hard plastic buttons a kind of "soft touch". But with time and temperature it turned into a sticky touch!

Have you guys tried putting baby powder over sticky buttons?

I have successfully solved issues on couple of sticky items in the past and I think that the same would work for the buttons. Try to find a powder that isn't perfumed.
