Good thing is those older cars may be exempt...hopefully.

Scrapping the muffler and resonator has little to no impact on emissions. Tossing the cat(s) does. But, plenty of states have roadside noise monitors as well. So, beware your mods. The F-Type is already precariously close to those decibel limits.

hich is great timing as I'm taking delivery of my IRR base 6 speed coupe on Saturday!! This looks like the perfect solution for mounting the front plate when needed. Thanks to the original post individual...MVP award to you!!!

Make sure the dealer does not install the front plate bracket. I have seen it done by mistake even after someone has asked for no front plate.

Thanks for the tip JgaXkr...my sales rep and I have emailed all morning about the bracket and he is aware I've ordered it and will receive it before he takes delivery from the port. I told him I wanted no holes drilled at all. I plan to drop the bracket off to them before they get the vehicle as an added measure that this is how the front plate will be mounted if I mount one at all.

Just a tip . . . I wouldn't drop the Sto-n-Sho off at the dealer. Do it yourself!

It takes 3 minutes with a flat blade screwdriver and 10mm wrench. While the directions are simple, it is possible to over-torque the mounting block, and I wouldn't trust the dealer "hole-driller" to do that.

Also no rush on installing. DMV or MVA (depending on state) will take a few weeks to send you a tag.

My MD dealer issued new tags and a printed registration card at the point of sale, which most dealers in this state do now. That's how I ended up with 4 holes in my bumper, which are fortunately now repaired, courtesy of the dealer.

So true...you don't want to over tighten the bolt since it's just threading into plastic...and the dealership certainly would!

Also FYI, the mounting block can be installed upside down, and it won't latch, but the spring-loaded latching pin will still be on the correct (right) side.

I discovered this last week. When I originally received it and had the instructions, I mounted it correctly, but I took it off when I took my car in to have the bumper holes repaired. When I got the car back, I just slapped it back on without really looking. The correct mounting is with the two smaller extra holes (not used) facing the ground.

I spoke to Mike about it, and he said the original batch was adapted from the Z06 design, and the two extra holes were for that car. He's sold so many, he's ordered a new batch for the F-Type, which will only have the one mounting hole, and can be mounted either way with the pin on the right side.

Plates and registration from my dealer too, except they entered the wrong plate # - off by one digit. I discovered this the following spring when I tried to have it inspected. Had to get new plates (turns out someone else was properly registered with the same plates as mine!) So check your registration to be sure it matches your plates!

I got one in the mail today. It came with instructions, hardware, a sticker, a plastic business card, a pen, and two keyrings.

Now, where's that car to bolt to it?

Where are you? Southern California perhaps? Mine was showing Friday dealer delivery, but I expect that PDI and prep will preclude Friday as delivery to me.

Your dealer is in the distinct minority, and either got in trouble with MVA or simply refuses to participate in the point-of-sale registration process that virtually all other new vehicle dealers in the DMV (DC/MD/VA) do these days.

My dealer is outside of Philadelphia. It was unloaded in Baltimore on Monday at 933 am. Thanks to all who shared how to track the shipping....that was a hoot. Had everyone at work going nuts with updates :-)
Dealer contacted me today and said I can take delivery on Friday.

When I bought and flipped (sold) a SmartCar when they first came out, I had real tags on it when I drove it away.
