Been a Porsche owner for a long time and decided to change things up in the garage. Closed on an R this afternoon that a local Porsche Club member in Dallas decided to sell. Still becoming familiar with it but so far really liking it. Will be building my list of things to do to it over the next few weeks.
I look forward to meeting others and seeing what you've done to yours.
Very nice! I can't tell if it's a 2016 or a 2017, but the previous owner clearly loved it. The carbon Blade wheels really set the car off nicely and I've never seen the Akropovic tips before. The look to just be covers on the stock exhaust, but I don't know that to be a fact.
Thank you. The car's very clean with only 34k miles. Had looked at some others that had more worn interiors or the leather around the center vents starting to pull away. The wife and I are already talking with friends about a weekend drive on the Texas Twisted Sisters route in the Hill Country.
Curious which model Porsche (s) you have owned. One of a Porsche forum member on another site did not have kind words on F types or any Jaguar. (and many other brands) Interested to hear your take on the switch.
Also like those exhaust tips, but I don't see anything on the Akrapovic website for an F type or any Jaguar. Do you happen to know where they came from or what model?

first, congrats and welcome! am also curious on your thoughts. have always loved Porsches but haven't had the opportunity to own one yet. I never understood why people hate on different cars (not any car in specific) but as a car enthusiast, I love all cars (well not all...the Pontiac Aztec comes to mind) and never put down others for their choice. just seems weird.
Congratulations! You will love it. Having been a former (997) 911s owner, when I compare the two cars, if I had to pick between them, I would still take my F-Type for the fun of driving it, although the Porsche for its continued market value LOL. Nevertheless, congratulations. Let us know if you have any questions. Here was my 911 and my current F-Type.

^^THIS! I too don't understand the brand hate of some "enthusiasts". Unfortunately, they seem to show up in every car community. The majority of them have never experienced the brand/model they speak ill of.
On another note, I so wish I could afford a GT3 RS!! It'd be a nice companion to my F-Type!!

Both of yours are beautiful. Here's a shot of mine in the background from a while ago. I still have the 2007 911 Turbo, but sold the silver 89' 928 S4 over the weekend and sold the white 84' 928 DP Motorsports in the past as well. Your right about the values. The value of the 911 has increased to more than I paid. Makes it hard to let go of.
Never understood the hate from some car groups. To me they are works of art with each having its own personality. My wife and I got into cars after selling a boat back in 2007. Since then we've bought, fixed up, enjoyed then flipped many cars including:
63' Corvette vert, 64' Corvette coupe, 73' Corvette coupe, 68' SS Camaro, 73' DeTomaso Pantera, SL550. Current garage is a 2015 Macan Turbo (Cobb Tune), 2012 Cayenne Turbo, 2007 911 Turbo and now the 2016 Jag.
You bought Jolene, huh? The previous owner is the admin of the "Texas Jaguar F-Types" Facebook group. I do not know her but from her postings she seemed like a very knowledgeable and attentive car owner. I think you got a good one. Welcome to the club!
Well, Thanks for the responses from TX Raider and other Porsche enthusiasts. I am in the same camp as far as not disparaging another's choice of cars. I have a Panamera 4S on order but will not give up my F-type. It is a beautifully styled car. Enzo Ferrari recognized its predecessor as "the" most beautiful car to that point in time. Ian Callum did a skilled job at the follow up. I have admired dedication of Porsche engineering, but I could have bought a 911 when I bought the F-type. I just didn't fit comfortably. Test drove Macans and Cayennes, but didn't do much for me design wise. I liked the Panamera, but back then (before '17) it had the hump back. Couldn't do it. I almost passed on my '11 XF due to the headlights. The redesign of the "hump" and continued refinement in the Panamera checks the boxes now. It will provide the daily driver for the unseasonable weather and my wife may actually drive it. Feel fortunate to be able to have both. I also believe the new Landrover is gorgeous and refined beyond anything in the SUV category. ( I'd like to have one of everything I like). I wish the F type would hold its value like a 911 though.

I did. She had the service history, remaining extending warranty and it had even had been ceramic coated by my friend Andy Kay of OC Detailers who did several of my cars as well. Spent some more time today going through the car a bit including adding a trickle charger. Looking forward to taking it on a run with some of our friends in the near future.

I agree with you on the Panamera redesign. I see deals on the previous ones and think of adding one at times but can't get over the rear hump. The turbo models are almost as fast as the 911 turbo at 3.6 seconds 0-60 vs. 3.2. Very fast for a sedan.
