Suggested frequency for Battery Tender usage...

Depends on the length of your daily commute.
If you drive the car at least 30 - 45 minutes all at once, every two weeks, you should not need a maintainer at all. <--- That's MY excuse to drive!
If you don't drive it that long for a month or more, I'd hook it up until the CTEK indicates full, to prevent deep discharge. That would apply to a 'short-trip' usage pattern.
Back when I first got into Collector Cars, we would power a 'dumb' trickle charger from our garage door lights. That way, the battery would be recharged for about 4 minutes every time the garage door motor opened.

Hi Frank here my16 s coupe. I connect my Ctek, every time I bring the jag into the garage. It’s not a daily driver so it could be 10 days (especially now during the winter months) between driving. Since these batteries are sensitive to discharge and then wonky behavior I want my battery completely charged at all times. I only connect the Ctek when home. I know it’s overkill but the Ctek will just maintain a fully charged battery. IMHO

If it is a real trickle charger, you can let it connected as long as you wish, as anyway he will switch down to just a few pulse from time to time, and some even discharge the battery in between, so will for sure not overload it as it would be the case with a normal loader. I was always using an socket plug AEG charger before on other cars and had never an issue after winter over normal lifetime. With Ctex he load at normal pace and as the standby led light orange, and after normal charge it turns to green. And will just issue a pulse from time to time.
