We only ship the green HD belt on request. We believe it is easier to stay under the radar at the Dealer with a black belt, that is why we went back to black.

I don't know when the V6S stock pulley changed from Gen 1 to Gen 2 but it was probably MY2015 to MY2016, seeing as I have a MY2015 and I needed the Gen 1 upgrade and unhingd has a MY2016 and he has the Gen 2 upgrade. Funny how unhingd reckons you should get the K080575HD belt, which I suspect is halfway in between in length of the 70 and 80 belts, so I'm guessing 1476 mm long. Despite the difference in length I guess that belt will be perfectly OK.
Make sure you get the correct pulley and belt, there are two different shapes of pulley and two different belt lengths, see post #3 in this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...ecials-192638/
I'm fairly certain I got the Gen 1 pulley with the HD belt for my '16.

Mike, have you experienced any issues with breakage or excess wear with the standard duty belt? I suspect the more pliable standard duty belt would do a better job of avoiding slippage.

OP - this is correct. That part number also crosses to Delco, you can probably find one by calling your local O'Reilly or Advance Auto or something similar and get back on the road quickly.

The only instance thus far that I have seen a belt issue was where the installing shop swapped the idler pulley over, but did not reinstall the washers (one behind, one in front) from the OEM idler. Consequently the idler was wobbling and the belt rode up on the edge of the crank pulley and sustained damage.

Which means it's still a mystery when the V6S changed from Gen 1 to Gen 2, maybe with the 2017 MY????

Maybe 8-10 years ago I had a standard belt break right after install on a full throttle pull. This was on a 4.2L car, clean break in a straight line, figured it was just a defective belt. Has never happened since.

Can you clarify for what applications the "Gen 2" lower pulley would be used? My research shows the lower pulleys to be identical for all 2014-2017 F-Type model years. (I don't have access yet to the 2018 parts catalog).

It's different for all models & years, several VIN splits. All kits are verified to VIN now and even that is not 100% due to the new Jaguar cataloging. We have had a handful that the VIN said they took 1 pulley, but were wrong.

Back when we did your car their was only 1.
