Default SVR race taxi

Lucky enough to have a lap round the Nurburgring with Dale Lomas in the F- Type SVR, what an amazing experience to see it pushed within an inch of its abilities! Dale said its done over 800 laps, with nothing more than a cracked charge cooler, same engine and gear box everything. if you ever get the chance you should have a go, I think its the car's last year as he already has a 575 xf there delivered this week.

Nice video, we were chatting on your facebook post, small world.

What is an 575 XJ? Is that Project 8?

It's more correctly the Jaguar XJR 575.
I hotted up and tizzied up version of the XJR released a few months ago with the same 575 PS engine as your SVR (hence the 575 in the name).
See here for example: https://www.netcarshow.com/jaguar/2018-xjr575/

Never realised they did this, or is this the car after Project 8? Though I thought the Project 8 was based on an XE and an XE SVR will come or is the XJR 575 that car but not an XE?

Yes confused!

I went for a ride in Godzilla two years ago - this looks like more fun!

The Project 8 is based on the XE and was done in-house by SVO (and it has a 600 PS engine), the XJR 575 is a completely different car based on the hugely bigger XJ with only a little input from SVO.
It's now obvious that there will never be an XE SVR or XF SVR fitted with the AJ133 SC engine, if you want a Jag V8 in a new XE or XF then it's Project 8 or nuffin!

Ah OK is that because of the V8 SC being discontinued soon or they just don't want too many powered V8 cars?

As with release of F-Pace SVR I guessed they clearing out their AJ133 5.0 SC stocks though probably not as Jaguar sell quite a few F-Type SVR and R's.

That looks like a very smart set up - and with harness, and bar - safe too. In 2015, had a local racer take me around in 7:45 in my new Porsche GT4 that I had just taken on Euro delivery - scared the heck out of me but it was an incredible experience. I would love to take a lap with Dale in a Jag.
