Tall guys in a f type

The Gen 2 MINI was produced from 2006-2013. The Gen 3 MINIs, even the base coupe, got ginormous. The best of the bunch in my mind were the 2005 Gen 1 cars. As with all of the ‘02-‘05s,they were small, spritely and handled like go-carts, but the 2005 also had a close-ratio gear box. I Updated my ‘02 with the LSD version of the 05 tranny.

Have a 2017 R, I am 6’2”, 190 lbs. even with seat all the way back and down I find the leg room limited. My previous daily driver was a Lotus Elise which actually had more leg room (once you were in it), and my wife’s Mini is cavernous by comparison. Not a problem on my commutes but it gets old on cross country trips of more than 2 hours.
Meanwhile, if anyone finds the F-Type too tight on head or leg room, check out the new Vantage.

I had a chance to drive merc s65 over the weekend. A lot of resorts offer it as a perk to stay. BMW and Lexus also does it. But holy crap that car marries luxury and sporty with enough leg room for any height. The interiors, tech, everything shames my kitty. On winding Napa back country roads, I even noted the side lumbar would auto inflate to cushion/stabilize your left or right side going into turns. I was floored. I need to drive more cars. So cozy. Stunning and great exhaust note to boot.

Being Extremely Tall Sucks
Today I was at the Jaguar dealership looking at a 2021 f type, but just getting a frame of reference, because my budget is the 2014 2015 v6. I’m 6,7. 223 lbs, and I don’t fit. In the moment I said I could make it work but I was just kidding myself. The reason for the emotion is because I love this car, the way it looks and the exhaust. After I came to my scenes and I gave up. I was thinking I could put some racing seats in it. Because the oem seat are a good foot off the ground with like 8 inches of wiring. I looked into jet bracketing the seat to the floor without the rails.
If someone has experience in removing the rails and just bolting it to the floor of the car, please educate me
[QUOTE=eeeeek;2032263]I put my 6'7" tall friend in the passenger seat and he was pretty well folded in. His shins were up against the glove box. I then let him drive and he had much more room in the driver's side. He fit in pretty well.
Funny enough, he fits better in a Mini.[/QUOTE

I don't know man. I'm 6'6 and 235, I've done thousands and thousands of miles in a 2016 and 2019. When I immediately got in the very first time my car arrived, I panicked, but the seats are adjustable enough that you can make it extremely comfortable. Maybe I'm wrong and that extra inch on you causes problems, but with less weight I would imagine you go back and give yourself a chance to mess with the seat for 20 minutes.?

I am 6’3” and 190 lbs, and my son if more in your range (6’5”, 220 lbs).
I fit well enough and my son drive my F-type without complaint, so there may be hope for you.
I have taken the seats out of my 2017 Coupe, and I think a racing bucket can be adapted to the F-type.
There are 4 threaded holes in the floor upon which the Jag seat is mounted.
The bolts were all downward pointing and seemed to be regularly spaced.
The Jag seat has a few inches of padding and mechanicals that a racing bucket does not have.
You will likely need to construct an adaptor plate or mounting bracket to interface the bucket seat holes, with that of the floor.
Note: the seat belt clasp is fastened to the seat, while the seat belt tensioner and mount point is part of the body.
I also found I needed a bit more room around the pedals (I have a manual 6-sp) so I did some mods to the pedal faces to better accommodate my driving style and use of the dead pedal.
I also found that the “Premium” F-Types came with a glass roof, which offers a tad bit more head room than the conventional roof, and it allows me to pull up to traffic lights and still see them ( by peeking through the sun roof and not via the front wind screen... although you can look at fresnel lens applied to your front window.

My wife and I just picked up a 2019 f-type r. I’m 6’3” with a 36” inseam and 180 lbs. Leg room is acceptable for me. I feel like I have about the same amount as in my wife’s 2017 C43, at least where I have the seat set. Drove it 3 1/2 hours home and was fine. At 43 years old, after that long in anything I’m ready to get out and stretch. However there is no way I could wear a helmet.

It's funny tho, as I'm a vert that saw that slow and ultimately okay crash of a softtop flipping, and think of the broomstick experiment often and wouldn't likely want to make that measurement. I'm leggy and not too weirdly torso-driven, but still I know my noggin' is peaking out of the appropriate lines. I do notice I could comfortably slouch more but I'd have to remove a bit more of my ego.

6”1” , 270. I have plenty of legroom. A little tighter than some other cars, but comfortable, use the seat height adjustment to help move leg position on long trips. Only problem I’ve had was a sore right hip on a long (400 miles ) trip to Daytona ! Don’t know why, but couldn’t get comfortable that night!

I'm glad to read this thread. I'm only 5'8" and when I sat in an F Type in a dealer showroom, I bumped my head getting in, and found that my head was practically touching the sun shade for the panoramic roof. There was plenty of legroom. I have to assume that the seat height had been adjusted way up by someone else fiddling around in the car.
