Default Texas Mile - anyone going?

For those of you who are not aware -- this is a one mile event on an airport runway. I am planning to run in March. Anyone else?

TEXAS MILE // OFFICIAL SITE // 3 DAYS, 1 MILE: NO SPEED LIMIT

The Jag should go 168.5 in the mile. Y'all with that slippery F type R should hit 174.4. Takers?

I was going to go to a 1/2 mile event last year with my 991 but last minute couldn't make it. Honestly, I don't have the ***** to do a full mile. Just seems like way too many things can go bad at 170+ mph. 120,130, not much sweat. 140..150..a little more. But man I think once you start going above that it's pretty hairy! Get some videos if you go!

I went to a rolling half-mile drag event (NoFlyZone) last year in my TT-RS. It was a blast and was hitting 150 at the half mile mark. I plan on taking the F-type to the next one early next year. I wish we had something like the Texas Mile out here.

They actually do a medical first to make sure they exist LOL

The first pass is limited to 165 for first time drivers. Then the judges have to bump your speed limit up. You exceed-- you're out.

That said I will say how big my b***s are when I get there! Or if I even get in on registration day. It sells out right away.

Aren't your ***** electronically limited to 186? (171 in my case, allegedly. Thus, your ***** are bigger than mine. )

Yeah originally it comes limited to 186. I was trying to verify that Hennessey's tune removed the limiter, but at 180 I got a "tire pressure too low for high speed" warning. It was only a few psi but I didn't want to push it. Haven't been back out to try again.

Oh dayummm...that's a great pic!

Last I heard the price varies by duration. If you go two days it's around $250. Three is around $350. Price is given at registration time....

Ok, I thought it was weird they didn't list it on their website.
