Default thank you!!

welp... the f type is gone, i got a deal of a lifetime on a premium gr 2021 supra and its just a better car for me....

it has been the best 5 years owning a car and i couldnt be happier losing 70k by buying a car!!!

jokes aside the v6s treated me amazing and i'm hoping i can rejoin the jag family in the future. thank you everyone for your knowledge and help on this forum!!!!!!

the culprit... i'm planning to go full bolt ons and just track this to the ground. i'm very excited!

Please jump back on after you've got some mods done. Would love to hear what kind of results you get and maybe a comparison with the V6S.

so far power wise i would compare it to the R but handling is untouchable for the price. it handles like a miata but power delivery is just crazy. i'm very impressed so far with this little thing.

That light weight and probably ~400 crank hp can really make it an impressive car. No consideration to the upcoming Z?

i saw online people dynoing the 21 and it gets 390whp, i ordered an intake and a hks catback so far so i should be over 400whp, i havent really pushed the car cuz i'm breaking it in but i can tell its scary fast lol.

ehhh the 400z will take awhile to come out and i just really like the supra right now.

I really do like the Supra. For the types of cars I typically gravitate towards, it hits the mark. Congrats on the car and you got the fastest color too!

yea i really love the styling, its a bit smaller than i'd like it to be. i wish it was a wider car, but the designers know better than us haha. yea i've always had black cars i'm so happy to have a lighter colour for change!

I love the BMW, I mean Supra. I still don't know how I feel about that and love BMW and recently sold my daily that had 130k on it and still drove great. I like the Supra and would consider putting that along side my F Type R. I plan on a Caymen S but the Supra is in the running as well. Looks great and I would imagine will be fun to mod with all the options available. I saw a YouTube video swapping the turbo for a larger one and it was accessible from the top of the motor and less than an hour to do the job. Amazing.

you should try and drive one, cayman S and the 21 supra doesnt compare, i think its more comparable to the 911 S performance wise. Also once you get in the car you will love the fact its a bmw and not a toyota.

So it was an R at that price. Not great but you almost got the supra for half price. Id say you did ok. I wish these held value like porshe.

I just sold my daily which was a BMW. I also owned 2 Porsche recently. One was an older 996 twin turbo 911 with only 10k. Sold it due to a relationship hating the car (really bad move). Then bought a 2011 911S which was fun as well. I love my F Type but the lack of nimbleness eating at me. I love the V8 but it is more of a muscle car than sports car. I want a little both.

F-type depreciates a lot, but not THAT much. On Autotrader, lowest 2016 F-type I could find nationally was 53K.

I'm guessing that's the trade-in price. Dealers typically mark up the trade-in by $6-8K so that seems in line

Very nice! One of these has come up for sale at a local dealership, tempted to go along for a test drive. They really are a bargain and certainly here in the UK the prices have continued to fall and with F-type prices increase, it wouldn't be crazy money to jump ship. Intrigued!!.Just wish they offered a sunroof. Cabin looks very dark.

Thread revival.... how are you getting on with your Supra? I've sold my V6S and considering a similar move. Test drove a few and they drive so nice.

I've always liked the styling of the new Supras and would consider one now that the manual is available. must be a terrifically fun car to drive modded up. being in my mid 40's though...I think I'm a bit older than the typical demographic for the car though. have fun w/ it!

Love the mkiv Supra, had 3 throughout the 90's and was one of the founders of mkiv.com. That being said, I'm not sure on the new one. It's not really a supra and the styling is pretty aggressive for a 40 something like myself. The ftype is much better/classier looking imo, no offense. The Supra does outperform it's specs, just like the mkiv, but that's about all they have in common. You do have to give it up for the performance value though. Very close to the 718 Cayman S and Audi TTRS (two cars I would cross shop) on the track, but cheaper than both, plus an aftermarket I would kill for. And if the engine is half as reliable/stout as the 2JZ you're in good shape! Silly to say considering it's not a Toyota engine but maybe BMW can make a 900 hp capable monster as well. Let's just hope they figured out their rod bearing issues lol
