In the 2016 sales brochure, there is a picture of a carbon fiber engine cover
for the S 6. I know there is one for sale for the R,but can't find the S accessory cover for sale.
Has anyone ever seen one?
Thanks

Identical blocks on the exterior. The CF cover for the V8 will fit the V6.
1. As the thread on removing the engine cover notes, it will help the Intercooler do its job - so take it off.
2. It is "not cheap" and cannot be seen by anyone except your mechanic.
But, if you have the money and aren't bothered about how your car goes, I feel certain your mechanic will thank you for making his working day more aesthetic.

True, plus another hours labour charge to remove and replace it.
and no tools, other than your hands. And a paper towel to clean your hands.
Mine came back from the dealer (after this spring's annual maintenance) without the cover clipped back on, and not all of my grommet-things latch anymore. Unclear if they're just misaligned, or otherwise damaged. The cover stays in place so I haven't cared, but maybe I'll just remove it...

Hmm, the V6 SC is definitely smaller than the V8 SC, and the top/cooler is quite a lot smaller and a different shape, so I'm not so sure the V8 cover will fit the V6. Someone needs to test this!

Yes, when FrickenJag was pondering the manufacture of aftermarket CF engine covers we took measurements of the OEM V6 and V8 covers. They are identical.
I just finished up the F-Type AWD Rad covers and engine panel carbon bits. I'm moving into doing both engine covers now. This is the basic look of the design when complete but it will be in carbon fiber. I should have this ready to go by the end of the holidays. I'm pushing hard to get more and more products out.

Thanks Derek, please continue to keep us posted. I am interested in a full set for the AWD.

Dont the engine covers also serve the purpose of dampening engine noises....injectors etc? Just wondering for those who choose to remove them.

Yep, the cover reduces the engine noise quite a bit. Start up rattle, direct injection noise and S/C whine. At least with mine the start up rattle disappears after about 10 seconds, the injector noise can't be heard inside the cabin, and I class the S/C whine as a good noise. So I'm happy to leave the engine cover off.

There is only one part number, same cover for V6 or V8.

After a year and a half, I have seen no progress on putting a decent looking and vented engine cover into production. I have decided to try a new approach to making the coverless engine a bit more attractive (currently fugly).
I delivered the intercooler cover to a polishing shop to see what they can do with it.
