I've read the article and have owned an AMG roadster. That opinion is very subjective. I like the interior, though Audi is #1. I like the intimate space, Merc wasn't any better. If you want the roof to go down the interior is tight, wait for the GT roadster. The ride is unnecessarily hard, I blame the P Zero's. Porsches on PZero ride hard too! Dual clutch tranny are good but so is ZF 8 speed. Jag is best looking and best buy for the performance, not as good as corvette tho. My dealer experience has been good. Go on any car forum and you will find a large number of complaints about dealers and manufactures, and radio's. Any site! Vast majority of buyers never ever read these forums! If they did now one would ever buy a Maserati or a Jag for that matter.

Yep, I've run across people who've declared war on the manufacturer on every car forum I've ever visited (dozens). JLR doesn't seem to be worse than any other.

So just an update... decided to get another F-type instead of the AMG GT (girlfriend was not a fan of the GT once we saw it in person so that helped sway the decision ).

Went for a Polaris white w/ Jet interior and red stitching/seat belts. Also sold the XJ while I was at it. I have to say dealing with Jaguar on the lemon-law buy back was relatively painless and not as bad as some of the stories I've heard. It did take longer than I anticipated but in the end everything came out fine.

Still looking for my next car though to replace the XJ...

Well you certainly made your life a whole lot easier by going from black to white...

Congrats. The AMG GT continues to plague me. I really want to like it. It seems to have the performance and handling the F-Type lacks (relatively speaking). And sometimes I like the way it looks. But other times it's just such an odd looking car, and not in a good way like the SLS. I think AMG really could have put an end to the 911 dominance if it had better styling.

If you are willing to take another car it seems the process goes much smoother.

I had a bad experience when I got my F-TYPE two years ago - it blew the engine twice within a month from delivery. I never did get a good explanation as to what went bad, but Jag quickly offered a new car and after thinking about it for a day or two I accepted and gave them a second chance. With the second car, I needed a few months to shake off all doubts, but have not regretted the decision. I love the car, drive it hard at times, and have had zero issues of any kind after two years and 22,000 miles. I hope you will have the same great experience with your new Polaris White R beauty!

It was the 911-like rear end of the GT that was the deal breaker. I actually like the front end and the interior is WAY better than the F-type. I actually liked the SLS but I know many people who didn't.

Didn't get to push the GT hard during the test drive but will get a chance later this year at the AMG driving academy at COTA in December.

The AMG GT was kind of the opposite experience I had with the F-Type: it looked good in photos, but kind of odd in the metal. The optional spoiler helps but it certainly wasn't worth the additional cost to me.
