Appears to be an update of the Pilot Sport 4 but not the Pilot Sport 4S, see here: https://www.michelin.com/en/press-re...imacy-4-tires/
The Pilot Sport 4 and this new 5 are high performance summer tyres while the 4S is an Ultra High Performance summer tyre, so effectively one class higher.
Let's wait and see if or when a 5S comes out.

'Improved' to last longer? That's good...apparently, in the tests they ran, PS5 tires lasted almost double tread-life of Pirellis.
I'd like to see roadholding and braking results. on the same car, too.

(1) Longevity: Test conducted by DEKRA TEST CENTER, on Michelin's request, May-June 2021, on dimension 225/40 ZR18 92Y
on VW Golf 8 comparing MICHELIN Pilot Sport 5 (100%) versus BRIDGESTONE Potenza Sport (58,7%); CONTINENTAL
PremiumContact 6 (63,7%); GOODYEAR Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 (78,2%); PIRELLI P Zero PZ4 (SC) (56,2%) competitors.
Longevity test run in average real usage (D50) with 11568 km run and extrapolated longevity at 1.6mmResults may vary
according to road and weather conditions.

Since my '22 F-Type R is very new to me...1500 miles on the clock...I have no experience with any other tire than the Pirellis that were mounted when I took delivery. In my area, a number of roads are "treated" with a "tar and gravel" medium which resurfaces and prolongs the life of the asphalt surface. I have noticed that the P-Zeros are very "sticky" and kick-up thousands of pieces of gravel into my wheel wells as I drive. Do the Michelins produce the same effect?
