Talking Tomorrow Is the Day: Kief's 2016 F-Type Coupe R Delivered

I'm so excited!!!

Tomorrow morning I'm taking delivery of my 2016 F-Type Coupe R: Polaris White over Jet with Ivory stitch, Vision Pack, Black Pack, and Gyrodyne Dark Grey/Diamond Turned.

Like some other recent new members, I got a CRAZY good deal! And that's even after considering the car I wanted was located in St. Louis and had to be trucked here to PA. Moreover, the car is 12/15 build and only has 22 miles!

Last night the car arrived in the middle of a monsoon. My sales guy texted me the following wet pics. This morning, I couldn't help myself and had to take a sneak peak before tomorrow's delivery. Car was being "detailed" when I arrived (subsequent pics). Weather-permitting, I'll be sure to do a thorough detail this weekend. Sucks taking delivery in the middle of winter!!!

I'm coming from a 2015 BMW M4. This is my first Jaguar and I'm knocking on wood now that it's going to be an overall pleasant experience. I'm a die hard BMW Fanboy (see my signature), but this Jag speaks to me and I just couldn't stop thinking about it. Jaguar hit a home run with this piece of art

You are going to love it! As you know I have had mine less than a week and this is going to be a long love affair. I have driven the M4...this is much more elegant and visceral.

Thanks Larry.

Not sure if you saw that another new guy here just take delivery of his 2016 R (with CCB). He mentioned he has that TSB regarding the paint defect in front of the rear tire where the side skirt meets (I believe that's the location?). Do you have paint missing there by chance? If I have it, I'd obviously rather get it repaired before I take delivery

Is this the Paint TSB:

Love white exteriors! So easy with maintenance. I absolutely go nuts with swirl marks and white hides them so well!!!

Just heard back from my car insurance lady, and my annual premium went DOWN $302 bucks by replacing the M4 with the Jag! That was unexpected

Must be all that carbon fiber with the M

No paint issues, I looked carefully just now. My build is also December. I have found silver to be the most forgiving color, does not show dirt as quickly. But I love Firesand!

Thanks Larry for checking. Perhaps our December 2015 builds won't develop this issue.

I agree with silver being a forgiving color as well. Your Firesand is gorgeous!

Thanks, I love the color. Until I had my C6, all of my cars were silver or blue. I loved the AOM for the C6 and the Firesand is even more beautiful on the F-Type. I will have to wash it more often than my departed silver Cayman S, but it is worth it. Enjoy your new ride!

On average, Jaguar drivers must be a more responsible crowd than the M drivers.

Mine went up $180, but I moved up from a Cayman S, a lower cost car. I expect lower cost to repair except for Porsche parts, but I don't know.

Insurance on a 2015 Vette was $505/y, on the 2016 Jag is $618/y, but I'm old, safe driver, no tickets, all my insurance with one company, low rate area, etc.

Insurance maybe hasn't factored in cost of aluminum repairs yet. A rub I put on rear 1/4 ended up costing $6k! Jag doesn't like repairs wants replacement. Authorized shops must follow rules. Authorized shop only way to maintain Jags ability to resell car as certified pre-owned and keep trade value up.

Yeah, I was really surprised by this. Especially when considering the increase in price of admission with the J

A few years ago I had a couple of E89s: Black 35i and Silver 35is. Wish BMW would had just made a fixed roof version.

Just picked her up this afternoon. And already dirty from this winter weather crap. I cringe as I hear the crap being picked up from the tires.

I plan to give a good wash this weekend and will take a bunch of pics. I took it easy on her. But couldn't resist the entire way and threw her into sport and opened the exhaust--too soon for dynamic. The grin is still on my face!!!
