Default Took My Car In Today For JTB00432v4

I've not been satisfied with the sound of my 380W system due to distortion and what I deem as vibrations in the door panel(s) so I took it into the dealer today (Rusnak Pasadena Jaguar) to hopefully have the issue resolved. The Service Advisor summoned their audio specialist to listen to the system. He claimed to not hear the vibrations. I showed him a printed copy of the TSB and he said, "We cannot address every TSB a customer pulls from the internet". Really?! He went on to say he would check to see if there is an amp software update and would test the speakers to see if any are blown. The vibration may be subjective but I'm the customer and if I think there is a vibration and there is a TSB covering the exact issue, shouldn't they address it per the TSB?

It's better in my experience to pick a song that replicates 100% of the time. Some tech teams need persuasion that they're not wasting their time.

Someone here found an frequency generator smartphone app that could output a fixed frequency or a sweep. You can find sensitive frequencies to demonstrate to the tech. Or as dmchao says, find a track that demonstrates the issue.

They’ve been working on my car all day so they are either addressing the stereo or have been addressing the smell from the AC all day; hopefully both. No update from the Service Advisor other than they are still working on the car.

Thanks. There's quite a few. Which one is the best one to use?

Whatever works for you. it isn't hard to go from video to video. I did that and found an interior rattle happening at 55hz. Later I downloaded those videos to MP3 format. Re-encoded them because jaguar's super sensitive about their encoding. Then moved them to a jump drive and told my service guy to use them to find the rattles.

Cool, I'll play around with it. What encoding did you use?

As you can guess, I'm not an audiophile but I can spot vibrations in the sound system.

I got the car back after 2 days at the dealer. They installed the T2R21202 Foam Insulator Kit in the doors per the TSB and updated the software in the amp. It sounds much better.

They also fixed the AC odor. There were leaves and twigs in the Cabin Air Filter Box so they cleaned it out, installed a new filter and performed a Friggi Fresh Service. It smells like a French ***** now which I was told will subside in a few days but it beats smelling dirty towels. Kind of strange they didn't check the Cabin Air Filter Box as part of the CPO check.

How do you know what a French ***** smells like??????
Also, it's a 5 minute job to access the cabin air filter box, remove/replace the filter and clean out the box, sounds like you should do this every six months or so.
