Its being reported on our radio here this morning that Clarkson has finally received his marching orders and been sacked, and that Chris Evans is replacing him.
Can't seem to find any absolute confirmation of it online anywhere, although News limited reported "it was about to happen today" (knowing full well that News doesnt mind stretching the facts to make a story).
Jeremy Clarkson to be fired by BBC?
Whilst Evans is a nice guy and confirmed car enthusiast, I'm not sure Top Gear would really ever be the same again without JC.

Yeah I heard that was going down today as well. Honestly I think this is it for this generation of Top Gear. Hammond and May have said they wouldn't continue without Clarkson. So I'm betting we'll get to see the final three episodes that were in the can with some studio bits recorded using Chris Evans (or without him) and then that is it for the three. They'll go off and do their own thing, either together on their own. They have the connections.

My guess is they will either end up on ITV or Netflix who will then syndicate the show to other networks. Netflix is an elegant answer because like the BBC they aren't dependent on advertisers and therefore could preserve the excesses of the show.
