Default Trans default!

The screen blared "trans default" and literally nothing would happen , dead. Waited a few and then all back to normal. Second time this happened but not close together. Going to take it in for a read out, hope it recorded the fault. Or dealer will give me a "cnd". 8400 mi and no real problem!

My car has done a few fake faults that went away. Not that one. I do now use a Ctek charger which has decreased the occurrences somewhat. It's probably nothing serious is my guess but obviously it's worth checking into. Let us know what you find out at the shop.

I had the same thing happen a few months ago - fortunately when I was at home and in no rush. A few minutes later, all was fine. I took it to the dealer who said there was service bulletin about a brake pressure switch that could be the cause. I can't say for sure if that was the culprit, but they replaced the switch and it hasn't happened since.
