Trunk Will Not Open

Hello.. I have a Jaguar F-Type R and I can not get the trunk open. I have tried with both fobs and the manual release inside the car. I can hear it trying to release but it will not open when I press the soft buttons underneath to unlatch it. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? Any suggestions?

Mine lifts when it releases. Not very far, but it definitely lifts a bit. I don't have the automatical trunk feature.

Per page 61 of my Owner's Handbook:
"SELECTING VALET MODE
Valet mode allows the vehicle to be unlocked
by a parking attendant, without giving access
to the Luggage compartment and glove box.
Valet mode also prevents operation of the Touch
screen, to prevent access to telephone numbers
or navigation addresses.
1. From the Home menu, select Valet.
2. Enter a 4 digit Personal Identification
Number (PIN) (personally chosen). On
completion, touch the Ok soft key. Enter the
PIN again to confirm.
3. If you wish to cancel the PIN, select Delete.
If the PIN is cancelled, or incorrectly
entered, you will be prompted to enter the
PIN again.
4. Valet mode activated is displayed to
indicate that the PIN has been accepted.
The Luggage compartment and glove box are
now securely locked in Valet mode and the Valet
mode On screen is displayed.
Remove and retain the emergency key before
giving the Smart key to an attendant.
DESELECTING VALET MODE
1. When you re-enter the vehicle, select Valet.
2. Enter your four digit PIN and touch the Ok
button.
Valet mode deactivated is displayed to indicate
that your PIN has been accepted.
• The Luggage compartment will return to
the previously set security requirement.
• The Touch screen will be enabled.
Note: If the PIN is forgotten, Valet mode can
only be deactivated by your Dealer/Authorised
Repairer."
It may not work exactly the same on your car, mine is a MY2015.
I have read somewhere that the default Valet Mode PIN is usually either 1111 or 1234.

yes we tried lifting up manually while pressing the release button and it won’t do anything. You can just hear it releasing and nothing...

We tried this and the valet was not activated.
