Trying to join the Jag club
Hey all, been lurking here to research on F-types, but need help figuring out if this is a good buy or not. Test drove an F-type a while back and love everything about it. Lines, sound, and performance. Been waiting impatiently for the appreciation to drop. Leaning towards a 2016 F-type R, but saw this 2015 R. Is this a good deal or better to wait it out for the right 2016 to come along?

It would nice to have the AWD, but not needed since I'm in warmer weather. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

The pictured F has red calipers. The CC brakes were fitted with yellow calipers. The listing just says "new ceramic brakes".
Ceramic pads (to minimize brake dust at the expense of some braking effectiveness) are a different animal entirely from the $$$$ Carbon Ceramic option...
++++++++++++
Regards the 'need' for AWD: V8 F-Types are VERY INTERESTING to drive fast with RWD. Some say its fun, some say its scary! The AWD really helps keep the car under control. (I'll never forget the look on my friend's face when I inadvertently lit up the rears on his V8S.)

I won't be tracking this car so the carbon ceramic breaks won't be needed, but will clarify if they are indeed the cabon ceramic package. I'm assuming it's the latter and only the break pads.
I was all in on 2016 R AWD, but saw this and thought it might be a good option. Don't buy cars often and checking in to see if all you Ftype pros see any major red flags.

The 2016 will have:
- An active warranty and at least one free service, assuming it hasn't gone over the mileage limit. Jaguar started offering a 5-year warranty starting with the 2016 model year. Previously it was 4 years and no complimentary service.
- AWD, which you may or may not want. Have you driven either configuration?
- Older infotainment interface
- A central display in the gauge cluster that is a bit more useful than the bare bones display in the 2015.
There were a lot of things that were optional in 2015 that became standard in 2016, but the R always had just about everything included as standard so there's not a huge difference in the equipment.
The only thing that jumped out at me from the photos is the missing J badge on the rear wing.
