Default Turned the Jag in but will still hang around the forum...

Well three years went by quickly... turned my R in and moved on to another great car. This is a cool forum though and I will still be hanging around from time to time...as well as playing with my new toy.

Acura was offering crazy incentive to move the cars so I couldn't pass it up. It's getting a lot of online hate but the car is absolutely fantastic.

Being a brand Atheist I can appreciate many cars. Haters will hate, like buzzing flies; enjoy the beautiful ride.

My first two cars were Hondas, a Civic then an Accord, both well ahead of the competition at the time (1974 and 1980). And when the first NSX came out in 1990 it was my dream car. But not long after that Honda went off the rails and started changing the entire line-up to snoozemobiles. The new NSX is a fantastic car and my new dream car!

Could you give us a hint or PM me with the incentives that Acura is offering? This car has my interest but like you mentioned has been given some negative reviews. Out of curiosity I found a car in NJ sticker 200K and now listed for 155K. Also interested in your impressions.

It’s completely out of the question...but after seeing this thread - and a PM from the OP - I would, at the very least, want to test drive the new NSX, see it in person, and make up my own mind. Even the first generation NSX never got the respect I think it deserved way back when so whatever remarks - positive or negative - wouldn’t surprise me since everyone has an opinion and Japanese automobiles have the knock that they lack inspiration. All I know is the two NSX’s I had were not only the best looking cars I ever owned, but they were what I would consider true sports cars with unparalleled visibility and reliability.

Congrats! I think that the new NSX doesn't get the recognition it deserves, kind of like the F-Type.

Most people that knock the car are internet warriors who have never driven it. After two days and two hundred miles I can say it is worth every penny. It is mind numbingly fast. Not as fast as the 570s I was planning on replacing the f type with but almost. Plus I know it will start every time. I had a 96 and that car the most well built well balanced machine I ever owned. This car feels similar except it’s on steroids.

It’s also stunning in person. Probably due to the mid engined layout but I have been photographed 4 times today while driving. People say they lack soul but 0-60 in 3sec, or driving 85 mph hour sweeper getting on to the highway without breaking a sweat is plenty soul for me.

I loved my f type but I’m not brand loyalist. I appreciate cars for what they are. Jag loud brash beauftul fun. The NSX surgical driving precision. Plus mark my words. They are the deal of the century now that they are being discounted.

I’ll be back in a Jag when the f type goes mid engined. Or I may and a gently used ‘15 RWD to the stable in a few years.

I think the hate is mostly because of the price. Once it is in the $150k range, it is very competitive. The car itself is highly praised and considered well refined. Enjoy your new ride!

Interesting that you were also considering the 570S. That is what I'm after next, once they drop in the next couple years.

The only thing that the NSX lacks at it's price range is the name, in my opinion. It's an Acura, not a Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche, Mercedes or even Jaguar.

Unfortunately there is not a lot of prestige with the Acura name. Something tells me that if the new NSX had a Ferrari badge on it, it would be going above sticker and it would be called best Ferrari value ever.

My wife wants a new car. She loves the Acura reliability (drove one for 27 years and 200k miles) and now wants her first car with an automatic but the new Acuras are too big for her. Hmmm...

If prices follow previous Mclarens then the 570s will be a crazy deal in a few years. Owning one out if warranty is for the adventurous soul only.

Nice! A nice blue one pulled up next to me in Wesley Chapel the other day and revved at me. I was in the F-type (not the GTR), so I didn’t bite. And racing is a criminal offense in Florida anyway and it’s not worth the risk. I like the car, though. It’s good to see the prices coming down to reasonable levels.
