Default Is this a tweeter in my center console? '16 R Vert

I was cleaning under the cupholder on my '16 R vert with Meridian Surround, and noticed this. It's in the front face of the center console storage bin, facing the cupholder compartment. You can only see it if you hold the cupholder door partially open and look from the front. I thought it was some sort of button at first, but it feels like some type of fabric like a tweeter cone. I looked at the parts fiche and don't see anything that looks like it. Any ideas? Did Jag really put a tweeter in the center console enclosed by the cupholder cubby? That seems crazy. lol

Maybe it's the elusive "cup holder insert release button" for a 'vert that half the 'vert owners here are looking for?

Probably the speaker for the alarm.

Warning chimes? Wouldn't the car alarm be on the outside?

It's a listening device. You have been under surveillance ever since you tore that tag off of a mattress.

Is this a thing people actually ask about? lol Aren't the vert and coupe cupholders the same?

This seems to be the most common suggestion across pages and forums, so that's probably it. I dunno. haha

Yep, a few 'vert owners are trying to remove the cupholder insert but so far without success, unlike the coupe cupholder insert which is a piece of cake, so it seems they are not the same.

I guess the cupholders need extra security to avoid being sucked out of the car when the roof's down!

Not sure if you guys are serious...I have a vert, and it just pulled right out, and pushed right back in. I think the manual has a different cup holder because of the shifter linkage taking up more space, but the coupe and vert ZF have the same cupholder. lol

Manual is definitely a different center console assembly, presumably with a different cupholder insert too. I don't have an AT handy to compare.

Yep, my bad, I mixed up 'vert vs coupe and MT vs AT, it's the MT blokes who are having trouble with the cup holder insert not the 'vert blokes.

C'mon Oz, I'm beginning to feel like you're prejudiced against us 'verties.
