Not since March 2017 - there's now a flat rate with a surcharge for "premium" vehicles (those with a list price of more than £40k, I think). The surcharge is dropped after 7 years. That's why I went for a post March 2017 F-Type, about £100 a year cheaper to tax for 7 years, then about £450 cheaper - peanuts compared to running the car, but I pay enough tax on my fuel so any opportunity to claw back a bit ....

I would rather say the P300 is aimed at a buyer living in a country that taxes bigger engined cars to death. I'd rather have the V6-V8 but paying 10000€ in taxes to drive your first meter out of the showroom and anually another 5000€/year in road tax is something I would rather spend on myself then donate it to our government.
If you are buying a car in this price range and of this type I'm sure running costs are probably the last thing you're thinking about, bar road tax
Smiles/miles is what counts for me

We have the P300 since april 2018. Sofar we did 26.600km and an overall avarage fuel consumption of 8.2 L/100km. We acheived the official 7,9L/100km on a trip from the Netherlands to the Algarve and back, last october.
Must say we did a lot of roads around 80-120km/h , not much above 130km/h. So life-time avarage is 8.2 L /100 km = 34,45 imperial mile per gallon.. This includes 2 topspeed attempts [ 50 L/100km at 240km/h... ].
We did drive a lot in Germany but traffic is so dense around the centre and east of the country, you hardly get above 120km/h during daytime. I think we didn't spend more then 2 hours in total above 200km/h.

GGG - are your mpg calcs using UK gallons? A gallon in the USA is meaningfully smaller (3.8L in USA and 4.5L for the UK). So the mpg numbers will look quite different for US folks.

Graham, you are correct : I mentioned for that reason 'imperial mile per gallon' ...

But my figure is almost identical to the official ones you posted. Maybe those are also UK gallons ?!

The P300 is not just for the cost minded. In some countries [ NL / EIR / PT / GR ] taxation by the 'green maffia' based on 'cult' CO2 pollution hysteria is staggaring. The only way to be able to buy a ICE car is to shed horsepower and tax-burden..

The price you pay for a P300 is the same amount we just pay in CO2 tax only on a P575... .. thieves..

Smaller feet and weaker legs can't press the pedals hard enough!

My wife can't achieve the same economy as I. I blame it on me spending 10+ years trying to hypermile in my daily driver.
I can STILL get lower lap times when the spirit strikes, though.

Knowing that is the key to a long marriage.

My trip-computer displays 8.2 - 8.3 l/100km most of the time, but in reality it's more like 9.0 l/100km. Don't know why it's off by so much though....

Drove 1000 miles from Houston to Denver to trade in my C7 Vette for F-Type R to drive back.
For the mostly freeway miles, The V8 Vette got 31 mpg (was in V4 mode most of the time, in Eco mode setting), while the V8 R got 28 mpg in dynamic mode.
For past 8000 miles, the R been 100% around town driving, so I didn't care about gas mileage since...
