Default Ultra Blue Paint Issues

Last month I bought a gorgeous Ultra Blue F-Type. And of course, I could go on with the usual accolades that most of us have for the car.

I have an excellent detailer; however, I noticed that even using microfiber towels for drying, it's very easy to leave uniform hairline scratches on the paint, even directly after a full detail.

Do any of you find this particular paint/color to be more prone to needing the orbital buffer? My detailer knows what he's going and I don't doubt the quality of his work. I'm just wondering if it's a soft paint.

It's not just that color. The clear coat is just soft, period. You can mitigate this a bit by having a ceramic coating put on, but these will mar eventually as well.

Don't dry your car with a towel. Either use a DI system or a Metro Vac blower.

+1. I never dry by hand. I just use a 180 mph leaf blower.

I picked up an Air Force blower from Amazon and it works great.

I was using a leaf blower as well on my car & quite to my surprise when we had it the Ceramic Pro applied they said the car had quite a few small scratches. When I mentioned it was never dried with a towel, only the leaf blower he suggested I just use the Metro Blower.

could be as simple as dust/debris settling on the surface of the car between washing and drying, then being blown with great force across the paint.

bottom line is that some $h!t just can't be avoided.
