Unfortunate Farewell
Fellow F Type enthusiast, Hurricane Sally got the best of my 2014 F Type V8 S. We had 3 feet of water come thru the garage without any forecast of storm surge. Therefore, I was unable to get the Jag, my wife's Audi Q5 or my 2009 Harley Fat Boy show bike. All where condemned to salvage. The Jag I had for four short years and was still enjoying it. In fact, as I posted on this site, I just put rubber on it and had the rims and brake calipers powder coated. Anyway, I have really appreciated you guys and what I gained from being part of this. FYI, I last year, replaced all my soft touch trim pieces and was able to keep a few of the take outs to clean up for the future. I' ll post them in marketplace if interested.

The flooding activated the passenger airbag? Yeah, the electrics on that car (and the other car, and the bike) are a write-off. The bike could probably get all the electrics replaced with less trouble, but the cars are going to be troublesome for the rest of their lives. Hopefully they won't end up on the used market with laundered titles, but I expect the chances are greater than I'm happy with.

Man really sorry to hear this. I have been there, lost my last house to hurricane Ike in 2008. We had 5 feet of sea water in the entire neighborhood. Spent 2 years in a battle with the insurance companies.
I highly advise hiring a Public Adjuster to represent your interests, most charge 10% of the loss but that will be more than covered by the difference between what the insurance company try’s to pay you and what your real loss is. I learned this the hard way.
Best of luck to you and all that were affected.

Sorry to hear. The F-Type is definitely a goner, but I've submerged a WideGlide (that's another story) with no damage after letting it bake in the sun for a week (Pull the plugs, oil the cylinders and change the fluids). That one you might be able to buy back from the insurance company for a song.

Thanks for the condolences. My insurance is with State Farm and they reimburse at market value. I have to admit what they paid is fair but I cannot replace with one in the condition mine was. I do have one last Jag mod. I was able to remove the aftermarket windscreen and make a memorial.
