Both T2R1783 (V6S MT, LSD) and T2R18657 (V6 base MT, open) are a 3.31 ratio. Not sure what you mean by AT? My base V6 is also MT.

340 MT: T2R18657 3.31 ratio Open
380/400 AT: T2R4000 3.15 ratio LSD

Probably. That would make most sense. I’m now hoping someone can weigh in on whether the DSC will get confused if the base AT gets a 3.31 implant.

Nah the 3.31 will be fine in an AT car, the OEM LSD has been swapped including final drive and ppl have had no problems.
Question would be if one Quaife would fit all of the V6 diffs (At open, MT open, AT LSD, MT LSD), and whether the final drives would be interchangeable. (although most people doing this would rather have the 3.31 anyway, I'd guess)

Yep, I did the swap and can confirm it works great. 👍 The most difficult part was to get my hands on a differential. Not too many out there, and I didn’t order a new one from Jaguar as they had none in stock and no estimated delivery time. Was lucky to find one on eBay finally.

Note: the above models all seem to have the same rear axle layout, minus the shaft yoke, which may be different.

I have purchased a used F-Type rear axle from eBay. It was from an Automatic 340 ps car ( EX53-4A213-DA ) so the most common rear axle out there.
The internals show a SPICER / DANA carrier with custom part number for Jaguar (2006726).

The carrier has 31 spline axles with 1.32" OD.
Funny.. a Ford 8.8" rear axle found in Mustangs up to 2014 used a 31 spline axle shaft with 1.32" OD.
Hmm.. time to by a Ford LSD from an 8.8 rear axle to see if it will fit.
This could be as simple as unbolting one's original ring gear from the Jag open diff, and bolting it to the Ford LSD carrier... presto.. no change in ratio, just adding the LSD feature.

I am hoping the prop shaft differences are not an issue when swapping out the rear diff (between Manual and Automatic versions)
I would assume the only difference in the prop shaft are in the length and possibly the output flange from the transmission to the shaft.
(Possibly also differences between the AWD vs. RWD cars?)
The half shafts being different is news to me... what could be different?
I will look at the Jaguar parts catalog to see if there are different half shaft part numbers.
Both T2R1783 (V6S MT, LSD) and T2R18657 (V6 base MT, open) are a 3.31 ratio. Not sure what you mean by AT? My base V6 is also MT.
I was wondering if the base Auto transmission used a 3.31.If not, the potential market for an aftermarket torsen box would be too small to attract a vendor to build one for the MTs alone.

Well.. it appears that @Cambo has already tried a bunch of Ford carriers in Jag rear ends... and none worked..

I just found that the Ford 8.8 : carriers used smaller bearings than found in my Jag F-Type rear end.
Ford carrier bearings: ID = 1.618" , OD = 2.533" (1559 bearing)
Jag carrier bearings: ID = 5 cm = 1.957" OD = 8 cm = 3.15" (metric bearing)
Not sure how much work it would be to machine the Ford carrier bearing surfaces to a metric size...
I am not out of the fight just yet.

I have an e-mail out to Quaife in the UK to ask about a custom rear axle carrier for Jags (F-Type, F-Pace, XF),
Quaife does some nice LSD's for several special applications. https://www.quaife.co.uk/
But I also think the upgrade market for Jag's is small... So I am going to try to fit a common LSD (Ford 8.8") into our Jag cases.
It may only take some bearing trickery... We shall see.
If it is a full re-shim of the input pinion gear it may not be worth the risk... or we will need a rebuild shop as a "partner" to build up a few axles at a time for the enthusiast Jag market.
