I have heard a V6s with the muffler deleted, stock resonator and it sounds good but they said it drones a lot, and I know by removing the resonator you get a lot of rasp, which is out of character with an f-type and sounds pretty bad imo, the best setup I've heard besides the VAP system was the OEM switchable muffler mod which open up the muffler and removes the internal resonators, but keeps valves, then replace factory resonators with a set of vibrants, he also has 200 cell cats but he said without the vibrants it was horribly loud and raspy. I would remove the muffler before the resonator tho, drones, but sounds good at least. Or just get the VAP super sport or valved system. I had the idea of removing the factory muffler and replacing it with two mini vibrants, and then replace the resonator with a magnaflow 11386 X pipe/ muffler combo, sounded great on my buddies s4 with a 3.0 supercharged 6.

A couple of people on another forum have been experimenting with Helmholz resonators to git rid of drone at cruising speed with aftermarket exhausts fitted. The biggest issue there seems to be where to put it. Someone's trying to make one that is essentially internally folded to keep size down, but he hasn't reported back on that yet. Because they are tuned for a specific frequency, determining the RPM at the speed where you want it to work is critical.
