performance upgrades
For those of you looking for discounts on the parts, i had purchased all of them, intent on installing on my R AWD, from paramount performance as part of their Project Predator 670hp upgrade package that was an insane $15500. Car had issues prior to install, so i just have all the parts sitting around now. I have both pulleys, the charge cooler (upgraded supercharger radiator), 30 mm drop springs, full bushings kit, and cat back exhaust all available (These are all the original paramount performance and viezu parts, fully compatible with VAPS tuning, very high quality and much more expensive originally. I am essentially trying to get rid of all these parts and am selling for 70% off what i paid, and quite a bit less than what they are listed for on VAP. All the parts are brand new. Let me know if yall have any interest, i seriously am selling what i have left for next to nothing!

The VAP crank pulley belt and tune kit is $1939 US at the moment, see here: Jaguar F-Type V6 & V6S Crank Pulley + ECU Tune
Which is around $3000 AU when you factor in the crap exchange rate and shipping cost.
You could wait until they have a sale (they usually do a Black Friday sale which this year is 29 November) where the price would be reduced by 25% - 30%.
I got a Eurotoys pulley instead of a VAP pulley as it was much cheaper at the time and it's a virtually identical pulley, and I already had the VAP "with pulley" tune anyway..
Then you need to add the cost of having the pulley and belt fitted unless you are skilled enough and brave enough to DIY. The tune itself is a piece of cake to DIY apply, no need to pay anyone to apply it.
I took my car to a really good Jag specialist mechanic I already knew and it cost me around $300, but any competent workshop should be able to do it.
One tip - remove the two undertrays yourself and refit them yourself afterwards, that will save you around 2 hours labour charge so around $240 AU.

The VAP Tune plus lower pulley will increase power of the V6 from 340/380hp to 450 hp.

Hi, I recently had the pulley and tune done on mine after running it for 2 1/2 years stock. There is quite a significant difference - in power the car feels to be about the same as my 5.0 XKR which from memory had 475hp, but because the auto and suspension is so much better, it is pretty usable and trotting around at low speeds in traffic is fine. It is worth doing - cost for me was $3500.
By the way there is (or was a few weeks ago) a grey R at Southport jag which is relatively cheap.

Thanks for another Aussie experience. Sounds like it'd be well worth doing....when I get a car.

Yes, saw that one. I follow carsales very closely More than likely to get the V6 and save some room in the garage for an F-Pace SVR when they hit the used market.

Cheers. I came out of an XKR into the V6S. To be honest I never really missed the power because the v6S is quicker in practical terms and you can control the power a lot more. I really only did the pulley and tune because the car was having surgery for a quad exhaust going on (because that and the sound was the only thing I missed from the v8) and I thought I may as well get them both done at once. Now that it is done, I think it would be hard going back to stock, it has added another dimension of fun and to be honest when I drive the R on the Jag track days I really do notice the extra weight at the front so for me I prefer the 6.
Yeah I considered the F Pace SVR as well but I wouldnt get out of the F Type for it and my missus wont drive a wagon or SUV. We got the 2020 XE for her car, every time I drive it I think it is exactly what a Jag should be in looks, interior, ride, and handling, it even sounds pretty snappy in dynamic with some fake throbby noise. My only complaint is that I didnt realise split fold rear seats werent standard and forgot to option them.

There are zero downsides!
Except maybe one - warranty.
The tune will leave a permanent code "non-OEM calibration" which remains even if you reinstall the stock tune (which is easy with the VAP device and recommended by them if/when you take the car to the a dealership for any work on it).
The dealership may or may not see the code but they probably will. Some will make a fuss about it but most won't.
If you have a non-drivetrain related warranty claim JLR will attempt to deny the claim but if you stick to your guns (and maybe get legal help) you should be OK.
But if you have a drivetrain related claim you are screwed.
As you probably know already the standard factory warranty on an F-Type in Oz is/was a measly three years and I think it went to four years only a couple of years ago, so if you get a used F-Type more than three years old it will already be out of warranty.
And after-market warranties are a complete waste of time and money here.
I installed the pulley & tune the day after my warranty expired.

Good to know! One just sold privately for $75K in Melb (....in British Racing Green), but I was too slow Four V6's for sale in NSW at the moment in the mid-80s, including this one that should still be under warranty: www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2017-jaguar-f-type-s-auto-rwd-my17/OAG-AD-17573203/. Seems to have all of the obvious options.
Nice exterior colour but that's about it.
Main thing is it's a base so it's got the crappy little brakes, no active suspension and no LSD (and probably no active exhaust).
It's also got the basic seats ("sports"), the base Meridian sound system (so not Surround Sound), no shiny pedals, no flat bottomed steering wheel etc etc.
It's falsely advertised as an S with Meridian Surround Sound, it is neither of those things, I hate it when a dealership (who should know better) does that.

I definitely know what you mean about the interior, the base seats, etc are very drab, especially after driving a couple of Rs and sitting in late model R Dynamic Pack V6s....
