Hi guys,
I am the owner of a Jaguar V6S AWD 380hp model 2016.
Last week I sent a car to the dealer for pinion seal replacement due to a leak in the rear differential.
Just to say the car was sent without any previous problems with differential.
The next day the dealer contacted me and said my differential is making loud noise and I won't be able to use the car.
The dealer says I need a differential replacement.
I do wonder if someone, not competent, might have made a mistake during the pinion seal replacement?
I have now no other option than buying a second-hand rear differential.
The symbol of the part I need is EX534A213MA it's an LSD dif T2R4000. After the google search, I can only find dif with a symbol EX534A213AA.
Can you please advise if there is a difference between EX534A213AA and EX534A213MA?
My car is out of warranty and bought from the U.S market
Thank you in advance for your help.
Janek

My thought exactly: severe noises do not suddenly appear. But I would also ask them which fluid they used on refill: the correct Jaguar fluid is part # C2D3650, which is BOT720/Castrol GL-5. This fluid is for the limited slip differential. It is not the same fluid as used in the non-LSD model.

I've read a lot about trouble with the seals. Apparently, there is a vent on top of the differential This was put there because earlier model Jags were blowing out the seals. Apparently the fluid expanded when it got hot and the pressure built enough to blow them out. So now, if the differential fluid gets 'mucky' it plugs up the vent - and the seal gets blown out. From what I gather it's best to change the fluid regularly so it doesn't become 'mucky'. Also - make sure the vent stays clear. There is a yellow cap on it. It made sense to me so now I change the rear end fluid every 10,000 miles.
