I'm torn because the value of having the remaining warranty and extended CPO warranty, as well as the thorough CPO inspection, is incredible. On the other hand, I don't love the white seats and in Chicago AWD isn't necessary but could be nice in light snow.
What do you think? CPO RWD CPO RWD Used AWD Used AWD
I tried an AWD V6S after having my RWD V6S and found the AWD drive version had a much heavier feel to it handling wise. It was much harder to play with with respect to generating rear wheel spin or kicking the rear end out if you wished to do so. If it were a car with a V8 AWD would definitely be good thing to have to keep from overpowering the DSC (Dynamic Stupidity Control) system. If I were going to drive the car year round in an area with a lot of snow AWD would be an absolute must with a change over to winter tires. IMHO for the V6 AWD is not necessary for fair weather use unless you apply a VAP crank pulley and tune but even then I don't think its worth the extra weight.
BTW white leather seats would be a no go for me. Too unforgiving in the dirt and stain department.
Don't think of the AWD like a Subaru or other cross over. It's a very basic AWD that biases to 100% RWD until things start getting interesting, then it will dish out power to the front. It will still get tail happy in the snow. You really need to treat it like a RWD car, imo.
I like the piece of mind a CPO offers with a six year old car, if I was going to drive it in the snow I would put winter tires on it, or take an Uber to work the several days we get significant snow, sleet, or ice we get in Chicago.

This one fortunately has a new set of Continental DWS Extreme all season tires. Not sure how those will handle the road mid summer, but they should help. If it get's real bad tho, I have a '96 Jeep XJ 4x4 that can get me through just about anything. That one was only $4700, so the Jag will be the princess of my garage for sure.
As others have mentioned, it mostly comes down to the interior. Ivory has not been a widely popular color but there are some that do like it. You can't really go wrong with either of them.

As someone who drives year-round on the Continental ExtremeContact DWS—in Maine and, yes, in the heart of winter—they would serve you well.
Nice!! The white seats should lighten and give life to the interior.
Re the interior, my car has the ivory seats and I agree that it definitely brightens up the cabin. It's also not that bad from a maintenance standpoint to the extent you take care of the leather every other month or so.

After seeing them and liking the white (these are actually 'Cirrus' not Ivory) I read a review elsewhere wherein the reviewer said he wished he had opted for white/light instead of black to brighten up the interior a bit. I agree with both of you.

I agree, of all the options for the MY16, I think these are the best. They've actually been refinished I think after those pics to some sort of 'Fancy Black'. I don't remember what the salesman said exactly, but they have a deeper more complex tone and at certain angles look black in some spots.
I got my RWD S back in late May and was faced with exactly the same decision. I opted to go with the RWD and the additional years of the CPO warranty. I've only put about 3k on mine so far, but I have to say that it handles like nothing I've ever driven. I'm still pushing her a little more each time I go for a drive, but I have yet to be worried about the lack of traction. The rear end has walked out when I wasn't being smooth with the throttle, but the traction control snaps her right back into place.
My vote is hands down the warranty. I go out for my weekend drives without a care in the world. I can drive her like she should be driven and if she blows up, I'll just call Jaguar and tell them to come get their ****.
Yeah I am actually going to get a 3 year/30,000 mile warranty through allstate, for $3457. How much was the Jag extended warranty?
I can only comment on the extra year I was able to buy. I got that for $1,200 if I remember correctly. Mine is a 2017 MY that wasn't stamped until December of 2017. So I'm good with the factory warranty through 12/2022. The CPO took me through 12/23 and the additional year brings me to 12/24.
I got lucky on that one.
My only bitch is that my dash is starting to curl up on the passenger side and they told me that wasn't covered.
I know a lot of people aren't fans of extended warranties, but I've owned a few BMWs in the past. If you've ever owned one that wasn't under warranty you'll find that you have two monthly payments, a car payment and a repair bill. I wanted something I didn't have to worry about so I grabbed Genesis as my DD and the S Type as my fun car.

So the CPO automatically adds a year? My Factory warranty is done in May/22, he was telling me there was some cost involved in the CPO factory warranty. I am into the peace-of-mind of the warranty, but I guess I should ask for a comparison of options with the Jaguar offered warranty cost as well.
