Default V8-S Vert - end of life thoughts

Hi guys-

Staring at the end of my 3 year lease (May) and thinking I miss the XKR's size and deeper growl - but love gazing at the F-Type still. Buyout is in the 50's in May and just clicked 12k miles. Thoughts I have when thinking of purchasing the car.

Observations:
My 230lb ***, or body, irritatingly rubbing the color off the driver seat because I slide in vs a delicate plop. Easily fixable, but will happen again. I had this on my 2011 XKR as well but not as extreme

The start button, and one button (not coming to mind which at the moment) on the wheel starting to show signs of wear - totally common.

That damn ECO button created on 3-4 different occasions a total shutdown of the car, luckily never pulling into traffic. This must be a recall item by now.

Tires - Pirelli's chewing gum tires last me around 3k miles for total life, and quit performing after 600-700 - and yes I drive it the way it should be driven - its a performance sports car - Getting ready for set #4 unless I turn the car back in.

Trunk / Overall space - Sucks the big one..

I read somewhere that there may be some collectibility to the F-Type as they kill off the 495hp V8- but I don't think I believe that. I like the newer targa 911 and I love the lines of the new 'vette and AMG GT. I'd love to think like a classic 911 however the jag retains some decent portion of its price. What do you guys think?

To clarify, isn't your lease up in 2016?

There's a thread on disbling ECO permanently.

Highly doubt that the original V8 verts will retain much if any extra value over any other.

Sounds like you've had your fun with the car. I wouldn't bank on the collectibility of most modern cars unless there is a very limited production run.

I leased mine knowing it would be a short term relationship. Just seems like there are a lot of long term quality issues that will be popping up. Granted most of them seem minor but they do add up over the long term. Unless the SVR knocks my socks off I will be moving on from Jaguar when my lease is up. New z06 or gently used mclaren will be next up.

Not a fan of the vette. My buddy has one and it just doesn't look as prestigious. They are everywhere here in Miami. The AMG GT doesn't look that nice from the pictures and videos. But I saw one in person on the street and it looks gorgeous. Why not consider the F-Type Coupe. Unless Jag does something to really **** me off, that's my next lease when my vert lease is up.
