Smile V8R Convertible MPG?

My other half amazed me by driving a couple of hours this morning and acheiving a superb MPG, and she doesn't hang about!

I was absolutely amased...I fell asleep and haven't got a clue how she did it?

How?

I did the same journey in reverse, and try as I might, 31 was the best, but I did have the hood down all the way....

it's been a while since I've checked my mpg, but I think high 20s was the best I could get cruising on the highway at around 70-75 mph.

I've always found that the computed mileage of many manufacturers are over optimistic by at least a couple of miles. Do it the old fashion way by math. I get 345 miles to 16 gallons = 21.5 mpg mixed hwy 70% and city 30% traffic.

Don't forget, guys. Tel is using a bigger gallon than you are (imperial).

Indeed, British gallon - 1.25 US Gallons because for some reason US pints are 16oz and not 20oz as they should be

doh! that makes sense. yes, if I cruise conservatively on the highway then I can get about 31 mpg british. if you wife is skinny, it's downhill and there's a tail wind...35 mpg might be possible!

This matches with what I have been seeing so far on my V8R, 22ish mpg with a 70/30 mix of highway to street.

Yep, our Gallons are larger, and the price higher to match!

I don't know how she does it (She is slim and tells me she is clever), but I'm fed up trying to beat her...back to 21MPG for me then!

Default 70

You'd be amazed at the difference in gas mileage cruising at 55 mph and being very gentle with the pedal vs. 70mph with rapid acceleration. Of course, I don't like doing the former either, but it is amazing. It's the way test drivers obtain the high numbers the rest of us never duplicate in the real world.

I very rarely get over 18 mpg. Must be doing something wrong) or not!
