Default Vacuum pump oil leak.

I have oil leaking from one of my AJ126's vacuum pump. Tech discovered it during a visit to the dealership for an alignment and check up. I didn't agree to have them replace the seals because I just did an oil change myself and have $70 worth of new Liqui Moly in it. They said it would need an oil change as the vacuum pump is below the oil level. I told them I'd do it on the next oil change which for me is 5,000 miles.

A) Am I being foolish about not changing the seals sooner? The video I watched showed the pump full of oil. A mechanical failure might be very not good.
B) In the video I didn't see a drop of oil come out of the motor when he removed the pump. Looked pretty easy, if you have a lift available. Seems DIYable.
