This is too much. I wouldn't do it without asking, but can I post this pic on the reddit cars forum? I am absolutely not offended if you prefer not. This is hilarious either way.

Mine is XTRAHP... When I was a kid I saw a plate that said NOWUCIT, and always wanted that.

Not sure what it says about me, but I always remember a great plate I saw in the UK (where custom plates can't be created) many years ago - CYN 1C

There is a Lambo getting around here with the plate
DMRIT

That's what you get here when you get a speeding fine, demerit points. When you collect a certain number you lose your licence.

But did you lose your licence and now you can't drive?

OK, You win, Jimmers!

Getting air in my F-Type yesterday, the gas station owner asked me if it was a Maserati!

Get used to that... The F Type might as well be a Bugatti in Detroit as far as scarcity goes. A good majority of people have no idea what it is.

I get Aston Martin and Maserati constantly. Only one person right away knew it was an F-Type (didn't even say Jag!), and it was the guy that worked in Domino's!

Did the air at that station have ethanol in it?

Be my guest (but good thing you asked since I'm a copyright atty!).

Well, since I got the F-Type I pretty much stopped driving the Maser, so probably no one around here remembers what they look like anymore!

Just arrived. This puts me in the 'bleeding obvious' camp but they're beautiful, even if a lot of plate real estate is wasted. The letters are flat but also reflective... And they come ready-sealed behind glass.

Default The most appropriate vaity plate for the R Coupe ....

It would be HELLCAT or HELLKAT. regardless of the fact that Chrysler came up with the name. It's perfect. I'm surprised no one has applied for it.

I am likely going to repost this on "interesting bystander reactions"...

So I am grabbing a salad for lunch, and on the way into the cafe, directly adjacent to where my car is parked, an old Nintendo-Luigi stereotype looking Italian guy who basically smells of petrol, and has likely worked on and loved Italian cars his whole life. He's really old world, but not too thick an accent. He says, almost aggressively, and definitely a little haughty but justified, "Why would you put those black plates on a new car?". It's the first time someone asked me that, and immediately said that they are the 60's legacy plates, and it's a nod to the fact that the F-Type is a successor to Jaguar's 1960's E-Type. It was quite off the cuff, but he laughed... "See, now *THAT* is the first good reason I've heard", and laughed it off. He then said "gorgeous, most beautiful, of cars".

So I got to thinking.... he's sort of right. I put these legacy plates on my Wrangler, and frankly it's not as appropriate as the Jag. But what I think the guy was getting at was that all these BMW or Lexus with the plates actually don't really make any sense. I hadn't thought of that, as in they are *literally* vanity for the color alone... but black plates on any car don't actually have any real logic.... except for our F-Type.

50 year legacy plates for a 50 year anniversary on a successor of one of the greatest (looking maybe not mechanical) driving cars of all time, from one of the greatest driving eras of all time. I like the logic there.

I just thought it a really interesting reaction. Also, anyone notice the black plates shine green at night?
