Default VAP E85 Stage 4 tune!

Was browsing VelocityAP's site and saw they posted up an E85 tune for the V6... Stage 4 will get you 553 BHP and 494 ft/lbs.

https://www.velocityap.com/product/a...5-tuning-file/

I got rear ended recently and in the process of looking for another F type and debating on whether I should stick with the better handling and better gas mileage V6 or go with a V8. This makes the V6 much more attractive.

Anyone looking at doing this? Looks like the lower end HP and torque takes a hit with the mod but the high end is a big increase.

Is it autosensing or is it E85 or full gasoline....I like the options where it senses the percentage for you....safely.

That's a good question. When I had an MHD tune on my BMW 335is, I had a specific map made for 25% e85 mix and I just always made sure to fill up 1/4 tank of e85 but a tune that can distinguish the mix by itself and adjust would certainly be ideal (and safer).

JB4? Had an E90 335XI and that map was amazing, both the sensing one after a few WOT 3rd gear pulls and the custom made after sending in stats to the vendor.

Wonder if an E85 tune will come out for the V8, but I think I read somewhere that the platform is near max output already with the current modification availability.

I had ethanol sensing in my homebuilt Midlana car. I made sure that it worked, and used ethanol as insurance when running on-track, but didn't bother on the street. You'll get much worse mileage on E85 (like 30% worse, at least on a turbo car), and then there's also the issue of letting the car sit, which F-Types often do. The issue is that E85 readily absorbs moisture from the air, slowly turning it bad over time.

If you're really going to do this, you need a stainless fuel tank, ethanol-resistant rubber fittings, fuel filters, and pumps, unless these components are already known to handle E85. You may also need larger capacity injectors.

It's also over in this thread, https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...-files-260330/

it appears it's pretty easy to impletment, but I did ask over there how the ECU knows what the ethanol/gas ratio is.

I just finished installing my e85 tune and let me tell you, it WORKS 💪 IF u were wondering if this is real well I'm here to tell you,, YES IT DOES!!! MY biggest fear was everybody including JLR saying you can't use e15 or greater or the shade tree mechanics claiming how foolish it is, so here's the facts #1) you don't need a fuel system upgrade #2) Chris a VAP is a tuning God #3) and most importantly YOU MUST USE E70 OR GREATER so if your in a spot with subpar e85 you might want to give VP Fuel a buzz, when I first installed the tune I made sure the gas tank was EMPTY (I mean really empty) and I made sure I had ms103 in the tank which I got from my local VP Gas station ( right out the pump ) and I bought 2- 5gallon cans of X85 just to be on the safe side until I installed the universal (Fuelit) ethanol analyzer that Chris from VAP recommended I get to guarantee my fuel was e70 or greater, this is really important or things can go LEFT real quick, this is the bottom line, your jag can run E70 or better AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE TUNE FOR IT ,the fuel system can handle it and the hoses and fitting will.be fine ( just occasionally re-install your stg3 tune and run good fuel thru the system ) I personally fill my tank with MS103 and run it empty then install your E85 tune and let it eat!!! I destory Tesla SUVs and any other v6 for that matter, basically I find myself running with the v8s and they are foolish enough to give me the jump or a car length & the jump 🤣 let's just say there's a few ppl down here in Miami really upset about the outcome ( long quiet ride home with NO MUSIC PLAYING) if your wondering WHY would someone do all.this to a V6 and just not buy the V8, the answer is simple, I originally bought this suv for my 73 yr old mom and she said it was to uncomfortable to get in and out of it was to high for her, so since I just bought it cash and would take a loss selling it, I decided to keep it, I put 24in forgiato and bought the tunes and pulleys from MINA GALLERY, which lead me to another Chris, Chris with VAP,,,, I first installed only the pulleys/intake and stg3 tune W/out the E85 and drove it for months scared to install the e85 tune based off what I was reading or lack thereof, so that's how I met Chris from VAP,,, after talking with him I was ready to put e85 in the SUV and it MONSTEROUS, before some of your heads explode, I own a 2018 F-Pace S, fuji white, fully loaded w/ 22in rims ( sitting in garage ) and full kicker speaker swap w/ 12in Solo.Baric Sub / 3k Amp, Ok my brothers from other mothers be good, stay prayed up and sucker free, this is F-Pace$554Bhp checking-in/checking-out from Sunny South Florida 10-4
