VAP - Having Trouble Contacting Them. Still in Business?
Has anyone had any recent dealings with them? I've had two unanswered emails; one six days ago and one approximately two weeks earlier than that. In the past they've always been very responsive. Perhaps they are super busy, COVID affected, have key people on leave....

Gooday Andrew.
Try Scuderia in NSW who are/were their Oz agents https://www.scuderia-autoart.com/
I dealt through them in getting the products in, who then organised for fitting by associates in Queensland

Hi Peter. Semi good idea I purchased a tune from Scuderia, but before I could apply it to my XE S (which is out of warranty later this month) I went and purchased the F-Type R. I figured that I'd need to go straight to Canada to ask if it was possible to keep my flashing unit and obtain (even by paying extra) a tune for the V8. Crickets.

However if you can get through to them and if you ask nicely they might be able to send you a file which recodes the tool to your new VIN, but of course that would make it no good for the XE-S.
If they can't or won't do that then you should at least be able to get a new tool at a discounted price, the blokes at VAP (Stuart and Chris) have proven over the years to be really good to deal with.

Good question. First time I submitted my inquiry via their website. More recently, I pulled out the paperwork that came with the ECU Flashing Unit and emailed the suggested: tuning@velocityap.com

[QUOTE=OzXFR;2404382]AFAIK each VAP tuning unit (they call it a "V-Tech ECU programming tool") is coded to the specific VIN of the car...
I imagine that the tune is specific to the VIN but that the flashing tool is generic, or maybe varies a bit by engine six.....thus my inquiries direct to VAP. In the past they've been red hot at answering my questions and, by my observation, those of others, thus my post yesterday

If I decide to keep the S then I'll probably put the tune on it, as per my original plans. But if it is, in some way, transferable and I decide to sell the XE, then I may as well put it on the V8.

My understanding of the device is that it can be used on a different car as long as the last thing done with it was to reload the stock file. I think it effectively "marries" to the vehicle when a tune is loaded and going back to the stock file constitutes a divorce. I haven't tried it.

3.5 attempts to contact VAP over the past few weeks have come to nothing: submitted a form via their website, emailed: tuning@velocityap.com, posted in this forum, and emailed: stuart@velocityap.com Weird as I've found them very responsive in the past.

Coz maybe VAP are blocking emails from .au coz Scuderia is their Oz distributor and they don't want to cut them out of the loop.
WAG I know!
