Smile Various Questions

Hey guys!

After browsing the site for 2 hours reading various posts, I finally decided to post about some things I couldn't find --

I was disappointed to discover that the 2015+ models ditched the V8 S, and cranked out an R model..

Regarding the audio system. Is there a reason I do not get the fancy surround sound options? Is it because of the audio system not being upgraded?

I love this car. Just annoyed I didn't get the Vision Pack when I could have.

Oh, and, this car is way too low for the streets of LA!

It's been hard getting used to.

Disappointed to get an extra 55 horses on the convertible? Why?

Maybe the music source wasn't recorded to support those features.

Understood. Given the poor rear visibility would never have ordered without.

Streets of LA must have gotten a lot worse in the last 20 years since I drove them. I remember them being mirror smooth.

Yes, the upgraded 770W system has the surround sound options, the 380W standard system does not.

Maybe he doesn't want AWD?

They have, in fact, gotten pretty bad. Granted there are some great driving roads out in Southern California, but in general LA is in bad shape, and getting worse.

Orkney (currently in Southern California)

I know it sounds silly, but after dropping more than 100k on a V8 S, only to have an identical car come out with a new logo on it is bothersome. The tailpipes were the only thing that set the models apart, but now it's become a S and R thing as well.

Very similar to what they did with the Rovers, and their Autobiography series.

I really wouldn't give that a second thought. The V8S is plenty powerful and is the only car (other than the 2015 R) which has the V8 and is RWD (in the US at least). If I were in the market now I'd love an AWD car but I don't see any reason to change out the V8S at this point just for the 2016 upgrades. If you want more power it's possible to boost a V8S to over 600hp, personally I'm happy with mine as is.

Also, keep in mind that pretty much everyone other than an owner can't tell the difference between a base V6 and a V8R. All they see is a great looking car.

Spend a couple bucks on an R badge and hardly anyone will know the difference.
