Default Velocity AP Vavletronic vs. Quicksilver

Does anyone have any experience hearing both of these on the f-type R? Is one significantly louder than the other? I'm really liking the black carbon tips on the quicksilver, but I like that the velocity AP retains the valve control.

I believe the guys at VAP can make custom black carbon tips for your exhaust, I'm sure they will chime in (I'm thinking about going down that route and plan on getting the Touring Valvetronic VAP's).

Pretty sure they can send the system out to be ceramic coated. I had mine done locally, its not expensive just to do the tips, more if you want to do the whole axle back muffler and pipes. Love my valvetronic system, would hate to lose the adjustable exhaust option - I use both modes a fair amount.,

I can confirm that Velocity can ceramic coat them...they did the same for me then shipped it to David Appleby Engineering in the UK where I've just had it fitted (although mine is a V6, not V8). Sorry for the potato quality, my phone did not like the strip lighting in the workshop at DAE.

And whilst not relevant as I'm talking about the V6 only here, but I'm really really happy with it...I wouldn't say it's any louder when the valve is closed, it just has a bit of a different tone (in a good way, not that I didn't like it before)...but when it's open, it sounds great. Not ridiculously loud, just a bit louder than stock, but plenty more pop 'n' crackle and a harder-edged bark when you really give it all the beans. It was a 90 min drive back home and I was smiling the whole way (in 6th gear, not 8th, cos 6th sounded much fruitier ).

As there's talk of painting V6 tips black in another thread, would be nice if you could post photos when it's done, even though those aren't the original tips.

Which thread, DJS? Sorry, I'm being dim and can't find it.

I've got the same set-up (and same colour car) as another UK owner, Sammy, who has a few pics here: https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=960&start=160#p17264

There's a black Remus exhaust here too: https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=3048&sid=b8c09803fc556479fafb 06c5083f1ac6#p28077

But I can take any other pics that people want to see!

Edit: the workshop have posted a better "upskirt" shot than the one I included earlier but the forum software doesn't seem to like me posting the link directly to Instagram...you'll have to search Inst for davidapplebyengineering, it's their latest post.

It's in a thread about removing rear badges - I see why you couldn't find it.
