Some pre-holiday love for you V6 guys. Finally managed to get enough clear road to shoot a quick couple video clips. A couple of things to bear in mind: This car is fitted with the Supersport muffler which is our loudest sound level, coupled with our 200 cell sport catalysts. So in terms of volume this is pretty far down the loud end of the spectrum. If you fitted this exhaust with standard cats, or fitted the 'Touring' exhaust along with 200 cell cats the overall sound level is going to be a fair bit quieter.
Sounds really good Stuart. I'm glad you were able to get some sound clips in. Definitely a lot less raspy. The one thing I noticed with the stock exhaust and sport cats was some of the deep growl was missing but it sounds like it's back. She sure does scream when you step on though and those snap, crackle, pops are amazing. Lovin the results, keep up the amazing work.
Yeah I'm really happy with it. As I said might be a little loud for a daily with this setup but for a weekend toy this sounds great. And it definitely created the tonal change we were looking for.
Will be starting production in a few weeks, launch specials will apply
We do have a separate thread going on those, but.... V6 prototoypes are being ceramic coated today, were test fitted in a car on site and Unhingd is getting a killer deal on them and will be doing some testing to see results.
We're now fully in production with the V8 Exhausts. Valvetronic in the Jig today for some lucky owners who jumped on the pre-buy.
Still have a couple of slots left for a 40% discount on valved ($2495 down to $1497) and fixed sound level ($1895 down to $1137) setups. Somebody jump in there and snag a killer deal!
Stuart, How much would it cost to get a version of ur exhaust that worked closer to the stock setup. Meaning with valve close the unit is pretty much quiet and at open valve it's like ur touring mode?

The Touring Mode is going to end up being pretty much the same as stock, or marginally louder. Based on experience with other cars we've worked on and an analysis of the stock muffler, I can say they will be pretty close. The Touring may be marginally louder but not much. With Valve open it will be louder than stock, but bear in mind that the stock exhaust is not all that far from being straight pipes when the valves open up. It only goes through one small separated muffler inside the main shell.
It will require some real-world feedback to give perfect answers to the questions but I would be surprised if the above isn't pretty accurate based on my experience.
We can design mufflers which accommodate something similar to what you're describing, but it does add a fair bit of cost to build something custom.
so I had the exhaust installed yesterday and man does it change the exhaust note... as Stuart has said, much cleaner & more refined... certainly much louder with valves open (I ordered a valvetronic). I'll try to get some clear audio clips to help anyone on the fence with their purchase. I don't have sport cats, just straight stock.
The installation was super simple, straight bolt on, no welding, cutting, etc.
