The torsion isolator, also called the supercharger coupler, is a relatively common problem on the Eaton TVS R series supercharger. The internal spring wears a groove in the plastic casing, and then the spring rattles especially at idle, so the top of the engine sounds like a can of marbles rattling around. I have had mine replaced under warranty.

I had my upper pulley replaced at Elite Auto Films in San Jose. Talk to Goshan and tell him Johncy sent you. As for the lower pulley, I have yet to find a shop that can do that. I believe Jaguar of Oakland is a Velocity AP dealer. I'm thinking about contacting them for my future mods. Btw, you go to any car meets around the Bay? -Johncy

The warranty fix involved changing the whole snout over for a new one (in which the coupler sits) and it was done at roughly 22,000 miles although the excessive rattle at idle had been evident from well before then.
The dealer initially diagnosed the rattle as a faulty SC belt tensioner and replaced the tensioner under warranty but that made no difference at all, so they then agreed with my diagnosis of a worn SC coupler.
My engine still rattles a fair bit when cold but it's much better once warmed up and this is reportedly "normal" for the SC V6, there is another thread around here somewhere about it.

Well Stuart is smart as always. Installed the 200-cell back on to the R with the Valvetronic V8 Exhaust and its waaayyyyyy louder than I expected. Surpassed my expectations of loud. Going to go back to stock exhaust and find another way to increase the volume without going to insane mode.

When you added the 200 cell cats did you also do software upgrade ?

Yes I installed the tune for the 200 cell cats.
Loud outside, inside, deep in your soul. Ear drum shattering loud on WOT. No microphone I have can capture it. If you drive civilized and keep the RPM under I say 3k no cop will arrest you.
I have a Decibal meter. I'll try to get some readings tonight. I'll try to record some sound clips inside and outside
In slow moving traffic I love it but when I need to do any major acceleration I have to brace myself.

Yeah I'm going to keep them on for a week and see how I feel at the end of it. Once the cats get warm it's actually pretty beautiful. I will try my best today to get some clips before I head out of town for a few days for those special people who are interested in bumping up the volume.

Just finished up for a forum member - heading to the UK with custom black ceramic coated tips. Valvetronic for V6. So this is for you guys that want to have a LOUD option without doing downpipes/cats. Works with the stock valve control.

Just saw this earlier on your Instagram page. Essentially it is a muffler delete with the valves open which is LOUD (Similar to what I was running). However the nice part about this VAP system is that with the valves closed, the muffler should tone it down a bit for regular driving. Great design Stuart!

I've been thinking... I wonder if it's possible to change the behavior of the "active" exhaust.
I have an R and running the 200 cell cats from VAP amongst other things, and always drive in dynamic. Now when I say they car is stupid loud its an understatement... I've been wanting to get a valved system from vap, but thinking about it, it's still going to be the same with the valves open.
So it brings me to what I've been pondering, as I mentioned above. I wonder if it's possible for vap to change the operation of the active exhaust so that its only controlled from the button inside the car.
Right now for example, I can hit the button and the valves close, however between 3-4K they open any way and all hell breaks loose...

Now closed means close all the time and open means open all the time.
