VelocityAP Stage 3 Top Speed
I’m curious if the VAP tune still includes the limiter at 186 mph (R model). I know the big marketing campaign for the SVR was 200 mph so no reason why 600hp+ via VAP can’t do it. It’s been a while since they’ve closed down an airstrip by me but hitting 200 in the car is on the bucket list.

Rev limiter is different than speed limiter. The VAP tune I have does raise the rev limit, but I don't know if my car has a speed limit in the firmware. The V8 might, since 186mph is a suspicious number. It was the magic (evil) number the motorcycle manufacturers were avoiding exceeding for a time, thinking that it would lead to legislation to enforce it.

I know for sure that the VAP tune kyboshes the N or P rev limiter of 4,000 rpm so you can sit there in N or P revving it to the moon if you want, not that any sane F-Type driver would ever dream of doing that!

Tires would be a good guess, but as you note, the stock tires are ZR-rated and it's generally illegal to mount tires with a lower rating than the factory fitted. There might also be aerodynamic considerations, particularly on the convertible, but I'm speculating.
