Those parts can be ordered from the UK and you can use a yellow bulb to remain legal. I did that on my MINI.

I imagine the cost is not worth it for most of us.

I wonder what caused the dip in power at approximately 5700 rpm.

Per factory specs... 550

Nobody knows for CERTAIN as drive train loss is always a best guess. But 550 engine hp, and 502 at the wheels only gives a 9.1 percent drive train loss. I'd imagine there's more loss than that, so the engine may be more than 550 stock.

Chassis dynos are notoriously variable. I agree that only a 9% drivetrain loss is not realistic.

I totally agree. It is either a very "optimistic" dyno, or the engine makes well over 550 bhp.

Typical drivetrain loss with an AT and rwd has been 15-20%. It might have become somewhat better on modern cars, but not much. There will be friction in every part of the drivetrain, and modern technology (better materials and clever techical design) can only slightly improve on that.

Edit: it is an interesting result though, and it would be even more interesting to see more dyno results from other F-type R on other dynos.

i agree with you the engine produces more than 550hp, and the reason why i dynoed is because i felt this car is underrated which is unusual from jaguar, i actually went to two different dynos and i got nearly names results

That is very interesting. It will hopefully be some more dynoruns from others in the near furure, and I am very qurious to see those results. Unfortunately there are no well reputed companies providing this service in my area.

Did it happen on the same dyno, or on two different dynos?

If it was on the same dyno, it could almost look like the wheels lost traction on the dyno?

That dip is a fairly common occurrence and is a shortcoming of the mapping. A good tuner should be able to buff out that curve.

Very optimistic dyno run, congrats. From what I have seen of other 5.0l V8 Jaguar dynos this would translate to north of 600HP.

Does the dyno place have numbers from other cars? It would be interesting to see if their dyno tends to report "high" numbers. Compare it to other cars they've dyno'ed, that should give you a better sense.

One guy decided to dyno his 2015 cayman gts and got 230 wrhp, he was rather disappointed

Mohamed,
Its possible that the Cats are getting hot enough that the ECM is dropping some additionally fuel to cool them on the top end. Monitor the A/F and compare at this location in the RPM.
Nice numbers though. Curious as to what type of fuel Octane you are running?

Derek Fricke
