Default Video w/ New External Mic for GoPro

Never been able to get decent sound on the GoPro with all the wind noise. Finally got an external microphone. Hooked it up and put it right next to the right exhaust. Think it's too close and the recording sounds a bit scratchy. Anyways, fun to get some audio of the cat at playing.

Cool. I thought about a setup like that for some back road foliage runs, but this would be about the last weekend around here. Also considered a mic for my iPhone, and just doing an audio recording.

I should find somewhere to do auto cross. A friend does it frequently in his Boxster and enjoys it.

I tried doing an external mic for my Android phone but don't think Android phones support external mic. iPhones might. The mic extension cable I got on Amazon is 12 feet so it can easily hook up to iPhone inside the car. Autocrosses are hit or miss. Sometimes a lot of waiting and standing around, very little actual seat time. If you do one, try to find one organize by the corvette guys (they tend to setup fast courses).

Cool video. That's so weird how that mother and her baby stroller crossed the track at 1:08 but good job dodging them.

Nice video! Got to drive hot laps at that same location in a 2015 M3 a few months ago. Good fun!

Nice video, I think the sound came through pretty well. Only problem I had was the warning "Do Not Attempt". It should be the opposite, "DO ATTEMPT". Maybe more places would be putting on autocross events.

Haha, I should change DO NOT ATTEMPT to DO ATTEMPT. Got a chance to try the ext. mic again, this time at a track. Unfortunately there were crazy gusting winds so it added to the wind noise a lot. Tried a center bumper position instead of directly over the exhaust. A little more quiet in this position.
