LOL. Try and stay warm and always keep the shiny side up!

Anyone able to a dummy stub wikipage on this within the thread? lol I just need a layman explanation soup to nuts. Thanks for the help. Does it kill warranty?

Okay. I'm last in this thread, and I'm lost. I'm a commuter base-6cyl MT (non-S). A gent mentioned VMAX for 90HP. I am no gearhead. I haven't any idea what this does, or how, how much, etc.

Yes, we have done some quick fairly low speed pulls, but so far nothing earth shattering has occurred other than his car was slightly faster than mine on that day for some reason, but that could be due to many variables that I'll be looking into. We are running the same tune (Vmax) and drive exactly the same car (2016 R). The tune btw has definitely added power and enjoyment.
I'll be collecting Vbox data and heading to the dyno next week in an attempt to collect scientific data rather than racing on the street, which only serves as a fun, but illegal method for comparison.

I just received the Vbox on Friday, so I will be testing that soon. I'm running 91 octane, so my times will likely be a tad slower. My car weight with the AWD coupe is higher as well, but we shall see! I will trade off the Vbox to TimelessR after I'm finished, for comparative data collection. Also I believe he will dyno his car as well.

I went WOT in 3rd gear, so there was only 1 gear change in the run. Not sure exactly what the starting RPM was, but I'd guess around 4500rpm and then just ran out 4th gear.
This was all on mainly 92 octane.

Anyone still have Sunoco 94 at the pump? Last I heard they were discontinuing it out East but some Midwest states still had it as of a year or so ago.
#34
Thanks Philly. Traction control off and in sport mode, paddle shifted, or automatic shift at redline?

I think you can still get 94 here in New York at some Sunoco stations but every station here has 93.

Some places here in NJ have 93oct - more so in the Summer (at least it seems). As i've said before - all the stuff I do will be on 92 / 93oct. Unless It happens to run an 11.0x - then I'll load up some 109 unleaded and let it rip to see if it'll go 10s
For the 65-110 stuff, I had traction control on / Dynamic Mode / Sport Mode. Definitely have to use the paddle shifters - leaving it in full auto is great at the track - but not for this.
Put it in 3rd, get to 60-62mph and got WOT, pull 4th just a hair before redline. Make several runs and see what works best. I had a number of throw away runs...shift too soon....let it smack redline...etc.
Best,
Jay

For highway pulls - TC doesn't matter - this car isn't going to spin the tires at over 60mph I'm much quicker shifting it myself for highway pulls, the auto doesn't find a proper starting rpm, etc. I've also done this at a pocono even back in Oct-14 to get the best time. We were doing 1800' races from a 50mph roll.
